Mechanical Technician Specialist

This position is an elevated role compromised of expert skilled technicians to ensure proper maintenance of brewery systems. As a subject matter expert, the Specialist will be responsible for the facilitation and leadership to maintain, install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, and dismantle all types of complex systems and equipment. Placement to Specialist is dependent on business need and is not an automatic progression.

Essential Duties:
  • Performing the required maintenance on specific pieces of equipment
  • Lead efforts to maintain specific pieces of equipment and identify critical spare parts
  • Safely lock out all brewery equipment as required
  • Communicate and acquire downtime for maintenance
  • Assists with making annual maintenance budgets for specific areas
  • Develops maintenance requirements and training checklists
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:
  • 8+ years' related experience and expert knowledge of all related skills
  • Ability to perform in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) all functions inclusive of creating work requests, work orders, requisitions, PM schedules, routes, task plans, material lists, etc.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding in the following areas: 3 phase motors and pumps, Pneumatics, air cylinders, bearings, seals, lubrication, sprockets, chains, belts, process equipment, gearboxes.
  • Proven expert ability on major systems and pieces of equipment.
  • Develop and lead process training for other technicians.
  • Completed Level 1 Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Certifications and proven ability to perform tasks.
  • Accountable for identifying and creating Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules on new equipment with Project Manager
  • Expert knowledge in material composition, ability to identify and determine correct material composition for process equipment.
  • Expert knowledge for CIP safety, ability to identify chemicals used for CIP, PPE needed, and how to safely and handle and dispose.
  • Expert knowledge in Process Water Treatment equipment and process functions.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of: can steamers, oil flooded/oil free air compressors, compressed air compressors, steam boilers, and Ammonia compressors
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 80lbs., and carry objects weighing up to 47lbs up to 100 feet
  • Ability to push/ pull weights up to 75lbs. and maintain a grip strength required to carry objects including buckets and boxes
  • Must show fine motor dexterity
  • Ability to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead.
  • Requires frequent, constant standing and walking

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell's and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Salary Range: $28.00-$35.25
