Attention Retail Operations and Data Specialists! Support the delivery and execution of NCG’s category management program by coordinating program flow of information, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, managing and organizing program data sources, and ensuring program data integrity and accuracy.
 
This is an ideal position for retail data experts interested in having a direct impact on the success of food co-ops, their suppliers, and their communities. Up to 15% business travel required.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the delivery and receipt of category management program product data, product availability, and discounts, allowances, and cost to and from distributor partners and communicate updates on a weekly basis.
  • Create monthly product data files drawing on vendor submissions and work with Category Managers, distributors, and brands to make regular updates, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all program data.
  • Manage vendor contract submission flow in NCG’s vendor portal, review contracts for accuracy, and follow up with vendors as necessary for revisions, additions, and updates.
  • Coordinate updates to product forecasts between NCG and distributors, ensuring accuracy and completeness and meet all monthly deadlines.
  • Analyze and clean up weekly distributor reports for new product shipments, work with distributors, vendors, and Category Managers to troubleshoot issues, and ensure products are delivered to stores on time and in the correct quantities. 
  • Support Category Managers with evaluating each product’s internal forecast, distributor product availability data, and distributor slotting requirements and determine whether products are viable at each servicing distribution center.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail merchandising, purchasing, category management, product management, trade promotions, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with retail pricing strategy required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Frontline service experience 3-5 years preferred.
  • General understanding of retail store operations, office environments, and marketing functions preferred.
  • Experience working with pricing software and tools such as pricing optimization software or ERP systems preferred.

Home Office Option: This position is eligible for a home office in the contiguous U.S. if within 100 miles of a major airport and there is sufficient internet bandwidth and mobile phone service for work to be completed efficiently. 
 
Workstation Option: For individuals interested in working from an office, workstations are available in our St. Paul, Minnesota office. St. Paul is part of the major metropolitan area which along with Minneapolis is known as the Twin Cities. The area is known for its excellent parks, bike trails, and other outdoor activities; vibrant arts, culture, and dining scene; and cultural diversity. Our office is conveniently located between St. Paul and Minneapolis at 2610 University Ave W. There is free parking and the Green Line Light Rail stops at our building (Westgate Station).
