M.S. Walker, a fine wine and spirits distributor, is looking to add a full-time Maintenance Technician & Machine Operator to their facilities team! This position is based at our Norwood, MA location and will be responsible for safely trouble shooting, maintaining, and operating M.S. Walker industrial machinery including general knowledge of facility support systems.
Shift available: Third shift: Monday-Thursday 8:00 pm - 6:00 am
* Bonus: $300 at 30 calendar days, $400 at 60 calendar days, and $500 upon joining the Union (estimated 4 months of work)

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial machinery including facility support systems including but not limited to conveyors, wrappers, coders, merge stations, motors, gearboxes, photo eyes, chains, sprockets, shafts, belts/lacing and rollers.
- Collaborate with the team and leadership in an effective, positive manner to assure the completion of all assigned tasks and business goals.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment controls, VFD's, photo eyes, PLC's, actuators exc.
- Willingness and ability to learn new areas of maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenace and filter changes on facility support equipment.
- Perform repairs to industrial automation equipment.
- Perform facility repairs such as painting, drywall repair and other light facility repairs as needed.
- Position will secondarily provide support in the troubleshooting and repairing commercial pneumatic, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- The position will regularly use welding, machine shop, power tools and electrical testing equipment to make routine repairs
- Minimize and reduce downtime by effectively communicating with third shift management and approaching repairs with sense of urgency
- Follow standard operating procedures, equipment troubleshooting guides, and GMP's.
- Perform daily/monthly safety checks.
- Learn Navitas and Johnson Controls building management systems.
- Utilize FIXX maintenance management software applications to perform, track, and close out PM's and work orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance & Facilities Manager
- Work with different department teams or in an individual setting.
Requirements
- Must have 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on automated manufacturing or distribution equipment.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical challenges not limited to VFD fault codes, photo eyes, machinery fault codes, mechanical breakdowns, and machine adjustments.
- Experience maintaining conveyor system, Hytrol conveyor experience a plus
- Experience using fork trucks and scissor lifts.
- Experience with maintenance and operational records through a CMMS
- Must be able to perform PM's and equipment repairs.
- Proficient knowledge of industrial automation equipment and PLC's
- Proficient knowledge of facility support systems.
- Proficient knowledge of Micro-Soft applications.
- Proficient Knowledge of BMS systems
- Valid MA driver's license and ability to become forklift certified.
- Ability to travel to all M.S. Walker locations as needed to maintain industrial equipment and facility support systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills on all distribution equipment.
- Mechanical and strong electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work overtime based on business needs.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proper use of PPE.
Physical Abilities:
- Work outside or inside.
- Frequently climb stairs and occasionally work on platforms > 40'.
- Work on catwalks or roof tops.
- Lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time up to 10 hours.
- Kneel, work on back, or stomach, to perform machine repairs.
- Work in hot or cold environments.
- Work in inclement weather when required.
