Responsible for the active management of the Brewing Department to ensure completion of tasks integral to the overall performance of the Brewery. Provides leadership and development of autonomous work groups while improving the core operations of brewing and blending operations. Responsible for monitoring the overall process, enforcing quality and safety standards, root cause analysis, and KPI Management. Will assist in the budgeting process to meet P&L targets and overall capital strategy within the brewery.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Supervisors, Lead Brewers, and Brewers on multiple shifts, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance, engagement, and collaboration
  • Ensure the highest compliance to safety and quality standards
  • Drive departmental improvements in areas of fermentation, blending, inventory accuracy, sensory, and quality
  • Translate the long-term MAB manufacturing vision into a short and mid term plan for the department

Key Metrics & Financial Targets:
  • Safety: TRIR & Safety Hazard Observations
  • Quality: RFT, Sensory, Consumer Complaints
  • Production: Attainment & Product Availability
  • Financial: COGS, Labor Cost/Case, Blend & GFB Loss
  • Inventory Accuracy

Own:
  • Brewing operations including strategic planning and development for production attainment and improvement

Influence:
  • Department safety, quality, and food safety
  • Brewing and production schedule attainment

Critical Relationships:
  • Local: operations, people partner, supply chain, quality, EHSS, maintenance
  • Corporate: tech services, supply chain, EHSS, and quality

Skills Needed To Be Successful:
  • Bachelors degree in related field (e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, food science)
  • 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing environment; brewing & filtration experience a plus
  • Previous experience in brewing, liquid blending, or other high speed food/beverage manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP principles, and Lean Six Sigma methodology strongly preferred
