Position Overview: The Maintenance and Facilities Manager directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, systems and equipment, and in fabricating parts and tools by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Ensure compliance with control storm water program, hazardous waste and government regulations. 
 
Language Skills: English proficiency required.  Spanish is a plus.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times. 
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. 
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. 
  • Modifies programming of PLCs and related equipment such as controllers and programmable controllers. 
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. 
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. 
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. 
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. 
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. 
  • Maintains time and production records. 
  • Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. 
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. 
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. 
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. 
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers. 
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. 
  • Ensure boilers stay in compliance with Air Quality Management Department. 
  • Control storm water compliance: Housekeeping, spills and illegal discharges. 
  • Control hazardous materials, paper work, and storage waste properly, hauls materials with qualified transportation. 
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system malfunctions. 
  • Work with insurance companies to update work with the City of Anaheim and Fire Department. 
  • Ensure compliance with local, State and Federal agencies. 
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 
  • Regular and punctual attendance. 
o   To perform this job successfully, must be able to perform each fundamental task listed above satisfactorily.  
 
Experience for Success:  
·         Ability to write report, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 
·         Basic math skills. 
·         High degree of mechanical and electrical aptitude. 
·         Ability to interpret a variety of instruments and blue prints. 
·         Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems. 
·         Total Production Maintenance Programs. 
·         Strong leadership skills.
·         Understanding the concepts of root analysis and analytical reviews. 
·         Lean Six Sigma. 
 
Education and/or Experience:
·         Bachelor’s degree required (engineering preferred). 
·         5 years’ experience, required.  
·         Experience in food and beverage manufacturing a plus.  
·         Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
