King Estate Winery, located in Eugene, Oregon is currently seeking a seasonal Host for our Tasting Room.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provide the highest level of guest service
- Receiving and recording reservations via telephone, e-mail, and in person in a timely manner
- Coordinating special memos for large parties, special requests, hosted guests
· Efficiently manage waitlist times and communicate options to customers
- A complete knowledge of the restaurant process to be able to direct the guest and answer any questions; an ability to complete fundamental mathematics
· Understand the breadth of King Estate to be able to direct the guest and answer any questions
- A complete knowledge of menu and all related menu item
· Proactively assign tables, manage restaurant pacing, gathering customer information for reservation system, summarize daily reservations during line up, manage resrevations books on a rolling 7day/30 day schedule, proactively manage waitlist as cancellations occur
· Understand all policies, including reservation and private event policies, and procedures
· Assist in transporting wine and non-wine purchases to the customer’s vehicle from the Tasting Room or other stock rooms as requested
· Maintain competence with computer functions, including retail POS systems
· Answer phones, process orders, perform cashier operation, and accurately complete paperwork following all procedures
· Maintain cleanliness of the Front Desk and lobby area
- Ability to handle guest concerns and questions in a thorough and professional manner. Know when to seek management assistance.
· Perform any other job functions deemed necessary by management
Requirements / Competencies:
· Two (2) years of experience in the wine/restaurant industry
· Strong social skills and the ability to effectively communicate with guests
· Outgoing personality, exceptional telephone skills
· Highly motivated, hospitality- and sales-driven with an outstanding work ethic
· Work well in a team environment, working towards the same goal at all levels with all departments
· Communicate well with others including customers, management and co-workers
· Ability to maintain a positive attitude and gracious behavior when environment becomes busy
· Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to concentrate and maintain organization public space areas
· Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and adherence to operating procedures
· Professional deportment, demeanor and dress
· Experience with Tock and Revel
· Valid OLCC and food handlers license and dependable transportation
· Flexible schedule required: evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
· Stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time
· Stoop, reach, kneel or crouch, use hands for duration of shift
· Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors
