The position of Business Development Manager (BDM) at Karma Culture, LLC is mainly responsible for all sales/revenue generating activities and relationships with our distributor partners and maximizing their execution of our brand in their markets.  A key role is to increase top line sales revenue while maintaining bottom-line profitability. The BDM will be a leader who is responsible for conceiving a targeted business strategy to drive corporate strategic objectives to tactical execution, executing partnerships to meet or exceed plan. The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented, multi-tasking, revenue-focused individual who can quickly establish relationships and manage a growth-oriented sales strategy.


Essential job functions include:

  • Creating, building, and maintaining strategic partnerships with local retailers and distributors to grow the portfolio of Karma Culture, LLC products in the assigned territory.
  • Coaching, managing, and developing Distributor Sales Teams and Managers.  Attending/presenting at DSD sales meetings where applicable during travels and key times.
  • Conceptualizing and applying a sales strategy to target key markets and establish a dominant presence in the region.
  • Developing and executing promotional programs and activities with key distributor partners.
  • Utilizing key reports (VIP/IRI/Etc.) to manage business from afar at times to ensure compliance of national programming, execution in the market of specific targeted initiatives and maintaining proper inventory levels to avoid any OOS situations of the DSD network.  
  • Managing sales forecasts and budgets to achieve established goals to deliver profitable growth for assigned region.
  • Participate in key market blitzes, when applicable, with other pertinent Karma team members which may fall outside of your direct area of responsibility.
  • Managing sales reporting obligations in a timely manner to include frequent sales updates, pricing surveys, etc.
  • Keeping abreast and reporting on products, category, innovation, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends.
  • Partnering with marketing on developing local or national initiatives, product launches and sales estimates.
  • Creating and implementing retail customer agreements, increasing revenue, and addressing retail customer needs; includes working closely with senior management.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve distributor support.
  • Ensuring that costs are controlled and monitored, including ensuring that the Accounts Receivable objectives are met, and budgets are not exceeded. Perform billback preparations for agreed upon promotions with distributors and retailers in a timely manner.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Resides in the Southeast & Western Region of the US
  • Five+ years of sales experience in a beverage retail, and/or beverage distributor sales environment
  • Demonstrated history of sales achievement in a hands-on sales environment
  • Proven knowledge of beverage distributor and retail customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers and distributors; ability to collaborate at all levels.
  • Excellent at managing time, priorities, and expenses.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborator.
  • Proficiency using Excel, Word, VIP, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with forecasting, Nielsen/IRI, POS and Inventory reports
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50%

Pay Range: $70,000k - $85,000k – dependent on experience.
