This role based in South Los Angeles,CA is responsible for executing sales and marketing programs in targeted grocery, mass/club, convenience, and chain liquor outlets. The role will be connected to the local distributor sales consultants and work directly with those sales professionals to plan, design, and execute activities that increase the rate of sale on Diageo US spirits brands at retail. You will leverage 3rd party marketing agencies, Diageo and CPWS personnel and functions to equip yourself with supporting brand assets to make a positive impact in your stores to the benefit of the shoppers, the retailer, CPWS and Diageo brands. You will be directed by key performance indicators and measured against those same outcomes: incremental in store activity, incremental sales performance by store and share gains versus the competitive set.
Key Deliverables:
You will be responsible for the sellout performance of Diageo US spirits brands in a targeted set of chain outlets. These outlets will be chosen for their strategic consumer and customer importance and will be organized into a journey plan that you will then service and grow in cooperation with your CPWS sales consultants. You will develop strong rapport and trusting relationships with your CPWS counterpart and with key customer personnel.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this job classification is between $65,000.00-$67,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service and geographic location. This job classification is bonus eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.

- You will engage customers to plan, design and execute activities that will support sales outgrowth. These activities will include but are not limited to:
- Hand Selling on high volume days/times of day in selected outlets
- Building impactful displays (in and out of section) to stop/engage and convert shoppers - leveraging Diageo approved and local compliant brand assets to drive physical availability and consistent brand messaging.
- Ensuring adequate stock levels are on shelf/on floor/in coolers - where compliant and allowable ensuring no outages at shelf/on-floor
- Planning, booking, and deploying in store consumer experiences - bottle engraving, gifting services, education events etc. In-line with an agreed national/regional or local plan
- Ensuring on-pack and in store promotional materials are current and in adequate supply
- Routinely surveying outlets using specific photo capture software and submitting those surveys on time and in full.
- Debriefing sales consultant partners on opportunities and risks in the store. Recommending corrective actions where appropriate
- Spotting in store promotional, display and activation opportunities and proposing Diageo Spirits brands as the solution - activating against those opportunities quickly & efficiently.
- You will be evaluated on your ability to positively impact Diageo spirits brand performance in the stores that make up your journey plan.
This evaluation will be focused on:
- Year on Year depletions (sales to) and sales out (to consumers/shoppers) as reported by CPWS depletion reporting and syndicated (Nielsen/IRI) sales out data.
- Share of category growth - are Diageo brands winning, loosing share of their respective categories
- Year on Year promotional or featured activity - are Diageo brands gaining a share of in store activity as measured by ad track, numerator, or other reporting tools
The physical demands of this role require the following:
- Bending, squatting, crouching and reaching
- Frequent lifting and moving cases of product and other objects of 50 pounds or more.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent job experience in the CPG industry.
- A minimum of 5-6 years' experience in the beverage alcohol industry/hospitality preferred) with two years' experience working in the off trade.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of his/her working time, including up to 5-hrs driving time. A flexible and agile approach to your workday and workweek - flexing days and times as activities dictate
- Familiarity with and experience of the chain retail environment - how these sophisticated customers operate and where at a local level can you influence outcomes.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment in CA as it relates to Beverage Alcohol and the 3 -tier system.
- Proven track record in building good relationships with customers as well as internal associates
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to gather and use customer feedback to identify customer and market needs and challenges.
- A self-starter and self-sufficient operator that can agree a course of action or plan and see it through to a successful outcome with minimal supervision or oversight
- Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments (internal and external stakeholders).
- Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals with a minimum of direction.
- Computer literacy with the ability to use software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and e-mail programs such as Outlook.
- Ability to use Business Information Tools including PowerBI, VIP and specialized customer tools. Ability to learn and use other internal systems such as Traxx/Edge
- May be required to travel to specific markets Monday through Thursday, with some overnight travel
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as need
