Graphic Designer & Brand Visual Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and versatile Graphic Designer & Brand Visual Lead with a strong background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record creating compelling visuals across retail and ecommerce channels, as well as an ability to guide overall creative direction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, shape the brand’s visual identity, and ensure all outputs—ranging from packaging to retail point of sales materials are on brand and aligned with strategic objectives.

Caboo makes tree-free household products made from fast-growing, renewable bamboo. Caboo’s paper products provide a soft, strong, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional tree-based paper goods. By utilizing these responsibly sourced materials, Caboo not only reduces environmental impact but also saves the forests we need to keep the planet breathing. Widely available in both the Canadian and U.S. markets, Caboo’s product range includes bath tissue, paper towels, napkins, facial tissue, pet, baby and flushable wipes.


Key Responsibilities:


●       Brand & Creative Direction
○       Maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and visual cohesiveness across all platforms and channels.
○       Lead creative concepting sessions for new campaigns and seasonal promotions, bringing fresh insights.
●       Presentation & Sales Collateral:
○       Develop or update visually compelling PowerPoint presentations, pitch decks, case studies, infographics, data visualizations and sell sheets that effectively communicate brand messaging, products & product features.
○       Adapt materials for various sales channels.
●       Retail & Promotional Collateral:
○       Create coupon and Instant Redeemable Coupon (IRC) designs that are on-brand and effectively capture consumer attention at the point of purchase.
○       Design retail Point-of-Sale (POS) materials including shelf-talkers, displays, and signage that enhance brand presence and encourage in-store conversions.
●       Marketing & Advertising Creative:
○       Work with teams to conceptualize and produce engaging ad creative.
○       Design and create  email marketing templates and graphics.
●       Brand Assets
○       Custom icon sets and illustration styles to support brand messaging as nice to have.
●       Branded Merchandise and Swag
○       work with teams to conceptualize and design company swag such as t-shirt graphics and other promotional items. 
●       Events and Trade Shows
○       Trade show booth graphics and signage: banners, backdrops and pop-up displays for events.
●       3D Render Design
○       Experience developing 3D renders of packaging and products.
●       Vendor & Asset Management:
○       Maintain an organized, accessible library of brand assets (images, templates, style guides), regularly updating materials as needed.
○       Evaluate and manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and print vendors, balancing quality, cost, and timelines.
●       Cross-Functional Collaboration:
○       Partner with the marketing and sales team stakeholders to ensure narrative consistency and strategic alignment.
○       Collaborate with web developers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to integrate visual elements seamlessly into online experiences.


Nice to haves:


●       Web Design:
○       Collaborate with marketing and web development teams to create eye-catching design and assets for landing pages.
●       Motion graphics for social media: 
○       short motion pieces to add dynamism to brand feeds. 
●       Photography & Videography Direction:
○       Direct product photography and videography, guiding composition, lighting, styling, and overall creative execution.
○       Manage external photographers, videographers, and production partners, overseeing pre- and post-production to ensure high-quality imagery.
●       Develop 3D Renders
○       Produce 3D renders of packaging and products.


Qualifications & Requirements:


Experience:


●       5+ years of professional design experience within the CPG sector preferably across Canadian and U.S. markets.
●       Proven ability to produce high-impact creative for both retail and e-commerce channels, as well as compelling sales collateral and retail POS materials.
●       Experience in 3D rendering (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
●       Experience in packaging design.


Technical Skills:


●       Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides).
●       Proficiency in photo editing and post-production tools (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Capture One).
●       Experience providing photography and videography direction, with familiarity in lighting, styling, and basic editing.
●       Knowledge of web design principles; knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
●       Experience using 3D rendering tools.


Portfolio & Samples:


●       Must have a robust portfolio demonstrating previous and range of work including: 
○       Digital and print ads
○       Retail POS materials
○       Social media graphics
○       3D renders
○       Packaging 
○       Sales collateral (sell sheets, presentation decks)
●       Additional work in photography/videography direction, web design and stop motion is desirable.


Location:


●       Canadian-based an asset.  Ability to collaborate across time zones required.
