ABOUT THE JOB
Angels' Share Wines is hiring enthusiastic, driven, and eager Sales Representatives in New Jersey to join our team. As a Sales Representative and part of the Angels' Share Team, you will be responsible for selling our diverse portfolio of fine wines and developing meaningful relationships with your accounts. The position requires mastering the wines in our portfolio, working in concert with our management team, and growing sales day by day. We are seeking self-motivated, outgoing, and results-oriented people. If you have prior wine and sales experience, this is a plus. If not, we will train you on the full range of our portfolio of artisanal wines. It is a bonus if you possess CMS, CSW, or WSET certifications.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Angels' Share Wines is a distributor based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York. Since 2004, we have represented some of the world's finest wines. We operate in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Angels' Share Wines offers a wide range of small-production wines with unique expressions from family-owned wineries. We focus on wines from the United States, France, and Italy. The company's offices and in-house tasting room offer beautiful waterfront views in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Our sister company, the Red Hook Winery, produces a wide range of unique wines from vineyards throughout New York State.

THE DAY-TO-DAY
Sales Representatives are responsible for possessing a high level of knowledge of our portfolio, developing meaningful relationships with their accounts, and conducting educational programs for staff within their accounts. It is essential to have an in-depth knowledge of the company's products, including their unique features and benefits compared to those of competitors. Ask questions!
 
Necessary skills for this job include, but are not limited to:
 
  • The ability to deliver persuasive speeches and presentations and negotiate and close deals successfully
  • Develop a sales strategy / plan to identify and reach potential customers and decision-makers for new business relationships
  • Partner with key retailers, restaurants, and hotels in the specified market to develop meaningful relationships and monthly sales goals
  • Prepare customized sales presentations based on producer programs and customer needs for each visit
  • Assist in organizing and participating in trade shows and consumer events
  • Aim to increase sales and accounts every month 
  • Communicate with office and ownership on your day to day

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fine wine wholesale distribution preferred (but not required), with established client relationships
  • Superior wine and spirits knowledge  
  • Some serious skills in your arsenal! We are talking about your top-notch communication, negotiation, analytical, and objection-handling abilities. You know how to get your point across, navigate tricky situations, and tackle problems head-on like a boss.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (These are required to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations):
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, and reach more than 4 hours a day
  • Must be able to carry 45 lbs (weight of an average case of wine)
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including some weekends) and dedication to selling every day
  • Willing and able to travel from account to account by vehicle and/or public transportation
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (necessary for NJ, Westchester, CT)
