You will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee all core financial functions—including FP&A, accounting, forecasting, capital strategy, investor relations, and financial systems. You’ll drive strategic financial planning, ensure operational efficiency, and support the company’s rapid growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader with deep experience in high-growth CPG and DTC environments, who can balance big-picture vision with day-to-day execution.

- Develop and execute the financial strategy to support BRĒZ’s growth across DTC and retail channels.
- Provide financial leadership to executive management, offering insights that drive strategic decision-making.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and sales to ensure financial alignment with business goals.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with COO on business operations and with CEO on fundraising and investor relations.
- Develop and lead long-term financial strategy aligned with the company’s vision, growth goals, and regulatory constraints.
- Partner with the CEO and executive team on business strategy, scenario planning, and capital deployment.
- Create scalable financial and operational models to support geographic expansion, new product development, and evolving go-to-market strategies.
FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support data-driven decision-making.
- Analyze revenue, margin trends, and unit economics across DTC and retail to optimize profitability.
- Develop and track KPIs, providing actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing corrective action recommendations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost improvement.
- Investigate discrepancies between actual and budgeted expenses.
- Own cash flow forecasting, capital allocation, and financial scenario planning.
Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial guidelines.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with government reporting, tax filings, and regulatory standards, including 1099 compliance.
- Lead financial audits and maintain strong internal controls.
Financial Systems & Reporting
- Optimize financial systems and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement best-in-class ERP, accounting, and business intelligence tools.
- Deliver timely and insightful financial reports to stakeholders, investors, and executive leadership.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, FP&A, cash flow management, and financial systems.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Lead ERP/financial systems implementation to drive real-time reporting and operational efficiency.
- Create robust financial dashboards and KPI reporting for internal teams, investors, and board members.
Operational Finance & Scalability
- Support supply chain and inventory management teams with financial insights.
- Develop pricing models and promotional impact analyses for DTC and retail channels.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance for effective decision-making.
- Handle Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring accurate processing and timely collections.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Accounts Payable inquiries and vendor relations.
- Manage payroll processing, inventory reconciliations, trade spend data, and occasional business filings.
- Assist in fundraising, investor relations, and capital structure management.
Capital Strategy & Investor Relations
- Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, while managing cap table strategy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, delivering high-impact financial narratives and performance updates.
- Drive financial due diligence, M&A analysis, and partnership modeling as needed.
Channel & Margin Optimization
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations to optimize pricing strategies, retail margins, and DTC unit economics.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and product to optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), gross margin, and contribution margin, inventory turn and working capital.
- Lead cost control efforts, identifying opportunities to improve gross and net margins.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including prior CFO or VP of Finance roles in startup and growth-stage companies.
- Background in beverage, Hemp-derived THC/cannabis, or adjacent regulated CPG categories is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in FP&A, accounting, and financial reporting. Strong command of FP&A, unit economics, cost accounting, and omnichannel revenue models.
- Expertise in DTC and retail hybrid financial modeling, unit economics, and cash flow management.
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and financial analytics, including Google Workspace, Slack, and other enterprise software tools.
- Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and financial storytelling in fast-growth environments.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing finance teams and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred, but not required
