About The Position
Wölffer Estate Vineyard, a sustainable vineyard in the heart of the Hamptons, seeks an enthusiastic, seasoned National Sales Director to grow sales and brand recognition of Wölffer wine and cider deeply in NY and more broadly across the US.
Wölffer Estate Vineyard, a sustainable vineyard in the heart of the Hamptons, seeks an enthusiastic, seasoned National Sales Director to grow sales and brand recognition of Wölffer wine and cider deeply in NY and more broadly across the US. This full-time position reports to our General Manager, is based in the New York metro area and requires the necessary travel around the US and the Hamptons as required.

  • Deeply experienced in the alcohol industry without being mired

Key accountabilities are to:
  • Manage over two dozen beer and wine distributors
  • Inspire, train, and manage a national team of 5 or more sales reps, holding accountable for goals
  • Develop and manage relationships within all layers within the distributor organizations
  • Develop and execute on a national sales strategy
  • Manage at all levels including key retail/restaurant/bar customers
  • Manage to the numbers (net revenue, depletions, allocations, targets, quotas, funnels, travel costs…)
  • Be on top of delivery of the product from PO to goods receipt
  • Work closely with marketing to create and develop, and execute brand goals
  • Work closely with marketing to identify strategic promotional and philanthropic opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of liquor regulation
Job requirements are:
  • 10 years’ experience in the wine industry, 5 years’ experience working with wine distributors
  • Up to 50% travel to the Hamptons, and throughout the US as the job demands
  • Ability to host an impeccable wine dinner
