M.S. Walker has an exciting, part-time internship opportunity with our Merchandising team this summer! The Merchandiser Seasonal Intern position offers an ideal opportunity for professional development and hands on experience in the wine and spirts industry, while getting excellent exposure to sales, operations and client relationship management. If you're a strong communicator, have incredible worth ethic, and would rather be moving than sitting behind a desk - this might be the internship for you!

Opportunities:

• Tour the local M.S. Walker facilities and learn about the various aspects of our business operations
• Meet with staff members to learn about their roles and experiences in the industry
• Closely monitored on-the-job training including, but not limited to:
• Traveling to a list of accounts to determine possible and/or scheduled merchandising needs
• Meeting delivery trucks of customer accounts to assist in unloading of the product
• Stocking shelves with received M.S Walker products
• Maximizing customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
• Placing proper point of sale materials on merchandise items in-store
• Constructing or assembling prefabricated display properties from wood, fabric, glass, paper, and plastic
• Reporting to management regarding inventory levels, marketing and sales trends, and customer feedback

Requirements

To be successful in this internship you should have:

• Excellent communication skills
• Motivation and eagerness to learn
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience with retail operations and visual displays preferred
• Knowledge of wine and spirits helpful
• Ability to lift and move product of up to 45lbs regularly
• Minimum of High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Frequent driving within assigned territory required
