Virginia Virginia Distillery Company - Field Market Representative, Massachusetts
The Virginia Distillery Co., a single malt whisky distillery located half an hour south of Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Field Market Representative to serve the Massachusetts market. The Field Market Representative in the Massachusetts reports directly to the Northeast Market Manager, must reside in territory, and will be the dominant spirits broker in both market share and sales execution for Virginia Distillery Company.

We work hard to bring our category-defining American Single Malt Whisky to market. Our distilling operations started in November of 2015, and 2020 marked the first year we launched our own flagship whisky brand, Courage & Conviction. We are data driven. We think big. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with Distributor Representatives and retail off- premise accounts in territory to ensure Virginia Distillery Company’s long term sales goals and objectives are achieved.
Make retail off premise account calls in a professional, consistent, and timely basis to develop and maintain relationships within assigned accounts, resulting in sales growth, new POD and continued depletions in accounts.
Responsible for development of an efficient daily route with monthly planning & quarterly adjustments, to maintain sales placements and seek out new opportunities.
Utilize KARMA & Power BI tools on a daily and weekly basis to support real time, data-driven reporting and decision making.
Track & Maintain KPI’s and Retail Off Premise Programs.
Monitor inventory and proper use of POS material. 
Conduct staff training seminars, tastings, store tastings, support Brand & Sales events in market.
Pre-sell upcoming discounts and additional inventory.
Survey and maintain account database for brand usage, promotional opportunities, etc. 
Maintain weekly reporting to Northeast Market Manager which includes (but is not limited to): itinerary, new item presentations, pertinent customers, and competitive information.
Maintain business travel & expense budget, reporting, and market tastings budget.
Maintain vehicle in a professional, efficient manner to assist in overall job performance
Ability to obtain and maintain state solicitors permit and any other state-required licensing. 

Daily, Weekly and Monthly Activities
90 % of time will be spent in market with assigned accounts, distributor representatives, brand, and sales events, tasting events, staff training & meeting with Virginia Distillery Company leadership. 
5 % Administrative duties such as: telephone, email, expense reporting, mail communication.
5% Divisional meetings- office and suppliers. Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Desired Experience
Bachelor's Degree, WSET or similar training a plus.
Two or more years’ experience in wine/spirits sales within specified market.
Exceptionally strong time-management skills.
Strong comfort level with technology.
Exceptional verbal & written communication skills required.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Position requires frequent travel and occasional overnights.

This is a salaried full-time position with benefits, commissions, and is eligible for participation in our Employee Equity
