About The Position
The Regional Sales Manager – Midwest (IL, MN, WI) organizes, directs and controls the execution of sales & marketing plans through key distributor principles, key stakeholders, education and motivation of distributor sales personnel to achieve optimum profitable sales volume. The role includes directly calling on key chain and independent accounts in the territory to assist in securing authorizations and programming across the VWE portfolio.


  • Develop, execute and monitor progress towards the annual business plan with distributor network.
  • Manage trade partners within the prescribed brand merchandising standards, target price points, channel priorities, and target ratio of on-premise and off-premise accounts.
  • Manage distributor progress towards annual depletion, accounts sold and sku sales objectives on a mid-month and end-of-month basis.
  • Facilitate and participate in distributor planning meetings and business reviews to include key meetings with ZVP.
  • Conduct distributor sales meetings and training events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve distributor sales execution and suggest corrective action.
  • Grow the on-premise and off-premise channel account base and overall volume while maintaining or improving price positioning.
  • Directly call on assigned key chain and independent accounts with responsibility to secure authorizations, feature and displays and sales execution to deliver overall goals.
  • Directly nurture relationships with high-value image building accounts.
  • Support distributor sales efforts in the trade through market field sales work.
  • Manage and report territory expense reconciliation monthly.
  • Work with internal sales administrator to manage accounts receivable and aged inventory for each distributor.
  • Update and monitor distributor incentive program progress and completion.
  • Provide qualitative market insight and reporting. Consistent communication of marketplace dynamics, opportunities and challenges facing the business.
  • Maintain and use business analytics including depletion reports, account sold information, call reports, monthly calendar, Nielsen/IRI and other control tools as deemed necessary.
  • Manage travel and entertainment budget.


  • Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining acute attention to detail
  • Skilled in relationship management
  • Effective communication skills, and a thorough understanding of process management and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Windows, Office, Excel, and Google Docs


  • 10+ years management and sales experience
  • 3 - 4+ years' wine distributor management & wine sales experience within the Midwest Market.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
