POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Tasting Rooms, the Estate Manager is responsible for balancing the delivery of a for all guest experiences with effective sales coaching, strategies and techniques. The Estate Manager ensures fiscal responsibility to their budget, hiring and training of staff, and general oversight of the property. In addition, the Estate Manager will supervise the guest house to ensure it is ready to receive guests.
SALARY: $60k - $70k
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Weekly inventory transfers
• Scheduling and payroll approval and minimize overtime
• Create, implement and maintain outreach programs
• Create, implement and maintain strategies to meet and exceed goals set by VWE
• Coordinate trade tastings and support Wholesale Team as needed
• Ensure all tasting menus are current
• General maintenance and upkeep in tasting room
• Report facility needs to the Senior Director of Tasting Rooms
• Develop team members for greater opportunities
• Respond to all emails, voicemails, and Podium inquiries in a timely manner
• Manage budget appropriately
• Greet all visitors and pour wines for tasting
• Create a memorable experience for guests
• Sell wine and wine club memberships based on monthly goal
• Describe wines and winery history; answer visitors' questions about wines
• Supervise Wine Club Manager to achieve all club goals
• Assist with special events as needed
• Represent winery at outside functions as needed
• Conduct inventory as required by VWE
• Ensure cash handling procedures are followed
• Prepare and manage food for wine pairings
• Manage all food ordering processes
• Hiring, training and staff development
• Ensure all staff are TIPS trained, food handler cards, and CPR
• Work with HR to ensure all policies are up to date
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

MANOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage cleaning company and support services to keep house clean and maintained
• Keep house stocked with food and wine
• Prepare welcome for each guest
• Monthly inventory of dry goods, bedroom, and kitchen needs
• Report any maintenance issues
• Provide in house tastings as requested
• Coordinate with landscaping company
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent people management and customer service skills
• Evidence of superior sales performance and guest services
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Must be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks at once
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years experience with tasting room management
• Knowledge of wines and wine production
• Experience with developing and managing budgets
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• TIPS and Food Handler Certifications required
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in an evolving environment with enthusiasm

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch repeatedly
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis
• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
