As the business development manager, you will develop sales strategies to deliver brand growth for the Innis & Gunn portfolio, exceeding industry trends and competitor performance. Act as the brand steward who will boldly champion I&G to stand out in the crowded craft & imported beer categories. Most importantly this role requires a team player who will expertly integrate with  United States Beverage & Innis & Gunn to help achieve their agreed targets.

We're looking for an individual who is willing to travel when required.

Key Tasks
  • Spearhead brand growth in and around New York
  • Work in conjunction USB sales to implement our sales strategy and tactics in that territory to deliver volume & distribution goals
  • Call on a select territory of retail and on trade accounts to drive brand growth
  • Use brand manifesto and account profiling to identify new retail and on trade retail partners for Innis & Gunn
  • Network with the USB team, distributors, and I&G target accounts in your territory to deliver a clear direction and focus on the Innis & Gunn brand
  • Act as the brand ambassador in the USA: comfortable in seeking out and executing brand education/sampling events to dive brand awareness and drive sales
  • Reporting: Monthly preparation of reports on key metrics - distribution, volume, promotional activity, # of consumers sampled, call/work with frequency & competitive activity
  • Be a sales enabler and become the brand partner of choice for USB, distributors, and retailers.

  • You’ll be considered part of the wider Innis & Gunn family and will contribute at various team and company meetings 
Competencies Required
  • Beer: Passion for and knowledge of beer  Self-motivated, full of banter, competitive and supportive of teammates 
  • Recent distributor management experience ideally in New York. Demonstrated experience of working with a rapid and competitive consumer purchase cycle
  • Communication: Clear and timely internal and external communication is key to the success in this role
  • Time-Management and Planning: Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced but rewarding environment 
  • Sales Skills: Structured sales call, negotiation skills and commercial selling 
  • Data Analysis: Ability to find information within data and use it to build effective plans 
  • Category Knowledge: Working knowledge & understanding of other brands (product variants & sales activations) 
  • Flexibility: Prepared to travel as well as work some evenings and weekends 
  • Computer Literacy: Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
 Additional Notes
2022 is a significant year for Innis & Gunn in the US market as we embed the re-launch our portfolio in terms of design and pack format. The successful individual will be at the forefront of this activity and expected to pick up and implement the agreed launch plan with USB and our distributor network.
