Job Summary:

The Financial Accountant reports to the Manager, General Accounting - Global Business Services and supports the mission to leverage resources on a global scale through the use of shared services to reduce costs, maintain or increase customer service, and build new capabilities.

This position is primarily responsible for providing accurate and timely information for the monthly accounting close. Specific responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
  • Processing accounting transactions and general ledger journal entries; specific tasks / areas of focus could include treasury / cash accounting, intercompany accounting, accounting for prepaid expenses, sales and use tax filings, and unclaimed funds processing
  • Preparing assigned balance sheet reconciliations utilizing Blackline software
  • Analyzing various general ledger accounts and activity in SAP
  • Facilitating issue identification and resolution for assigned accounting processes and responsibilities
  • Preserving and promoting a strong internal control environment and compliance with Company Financial Policies
  • Fostering continual identification and implementation of opportunities to improve standardization and globalization of processes
  • Developing strong, collaborative working relationships with teammates and business partners


Role Responsibilities:
  • Complete routine assigned accounting tasks as described above in accordance with company policies / procedures and SOX requirements
  • Participate in projects and support other General Accounting activities as required by process optimization or work intake efforts and company projects / priorities


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Major Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and internal control concepts
  • Experience with working with SAP, CFIN and Blackline a plus
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective self-direction and motivation, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, adjust to a changing workload and priorities, and produce accurate results while meeting deadlines and working under pressure
  • Ability to foster relationships with a diverse group of colleagues in a global setting
  • Personal computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)


Qualifications:
  • BS in Accounting / related field or equivalent experience
  • 0-3 years related accounting experience; 2+ years public accounting experience preferred Internal or external audit, management consulting or in financial reporting
