About The Position
Primary Responsibilities:
We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Area Sales Manager to grow retail sales and build brand awareness in Northern California. Your primary goal is to drive sales in key accounts (Albertsons Safeway, Raley's, Whole Foods, regional chains) in collaboration with our distributor partners. You are a natural salesperson with a passion for connecting with people and a hustle mentality!
Your focus will be executing on all aspects of the sales cycle: developing and maintaining existing key accounts, identifying opportunities for growth, expanding distribution to new doors, expanding distribution in existing doors, and fostering deep customer relationships. You will work closely with distributor reps, as well as our local broker & merchandising teams. You will be Swoon’s feet on the streets, the face of our brand with key accounts, and create customer loyalty through excellent customer service.

What You’ll Achieve:
Account Growth
- Maximize Swoon’s in-store presence and drive sales volume through additional placements, displays/case stacks, shelf merchandising, and POS
- Expand number of Swoon SKU's available in all retail accounts
- Work with field marketing team to organize in-store samplings to build brand awareness
- Negotiate and execute promotional strategies at store level
New Business Development
- Aggressively pursue new accounts to gain additional distribution for Swoon
- Think out of the box to pursue new types of accounts beyond our existing ones
- Work with distributor reps to find opportunities
- Initiate and maintain contact with key accounts to close the deal!
Account Management
- Conduct frequent ride-alongs with distributor reps, brokers, and merchandising teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all partners
- Own the relationship with and the day-to-day management of key accounts in market
- Analyze distributor reports to focus sales efforts in the market to maximize growth
Team Management and Participation
- Contribute to weekly and monthly sales calls with team to highlight success, discuss challenges, and understand company-wide strategies
- Track all sales efforts and performance through Repsly
- Analyze and optimize sales traction in the area to meet personal and team KPI’s
Who You Are:
- 2-5 years of CPG sales experience (beverage preferred)
- Proactive problem solver
- Experience with Sales KPI’s and achieving sales quotas
- Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to come up with new ideas, execute, and report back
- Natural storyteller and educator, with an ability to bring the Swoon brand to life
- Outgoing personality – willing to talk to anyone and strike up a conversation!
- You know and love this territory and have an established network you can contribute to Swoon
- Excellent communicator (both written and verbal)
- Strong organization and time management skills
- You are independent and reliable – you know how to take direction and run with it
- Flexible and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Additional Information:
- Remote role – based in SF or Sacramento
- Travel out of market approximately 25% of the time
- Reports directly to Director of Sales West
