About The Position
We are seeking a responsible leader to drive our beverage manufacturing process. Southern Champion is one of the fastest growing companies in Dallas, developing and manufacturing Ready-To-Drink cocktails including BuzzBallz, the number one selling RTD in the US. We operate various bottling lines, high speed canning lines, and assembly lines in addition to batching and logistics operations.

This role will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Production department. The Plant Manager will oversee 6 production lines with 24/5 coverage, beginning Sunday nights at 10 PM and extending through Friday nights at 10 PM. Direct reports include (3) Production Managers, with 100+ hourly employees. The Plant Manager will report to the Director of Operations.
 
This role requires effective leadership and an ability to remain objective under pressure. The Plant Manager is responsible for the oversight and fulfilment of the production schedule. The Plant Manager will spend time in both warehouse and office environments. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Ensure staff adherence to food safety and production protocols
  • Maintain plant organization and cleanliness
  • Set goals for the production teams and review performance
  • Continuous improvement of bottling line efficiency and throughput
  • Schedule routine maintenance and ensure that equipment and operators are maintaining quality standards while running safely and efficiently
  • Evaluate crew leaders, staffing needs, processes, and equipment to determine where to make enhancements
  • Train and develop employees in your department
  • Coordinate effectively with Scheduling, Batching, and Procurement departments 
  • Works alongside the Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering departments
  • Notify Director of Operations and Sales department of potential production shortcomings 
  • Assist Director of Operations with budgeting, Cap-Ex and cost saving initiatives to reach financial objectives of the company
  • Use ERP software to record, track, and maintain SKU production and quantities
  • Use ERP software to create new production items in the system 
  • Maintain objective stance in resolution management on issues related to production, staffing, etc.  
  • Take an active role in emergency procedures
  • Take an active role in plant audits
Requirements

  • Recommended 10+ years in manufacturing management (food and beverage preferred)
  • Ability to coach and motivate employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools with emphasis in Excel 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus)
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, FSSC 22000, OSHA 10, a plus
  • Flexible to work various hours as needed
  • Undergraduate Degree
