About The Position

Southern Champion is an industry leading producer of award winning RTDs, Spirits, & Wine. Brainchild of a former high school teacher, Southern Champion takes a non-conventional approach to the trade, paving the way for new ideas and innovations. The National Accounts Manager is responsible for the business and brand development of all Southern Champion products in the national accounts segment, developing KEY relationships with beverage industry buyers and distributor network. The National Account Manager Southern Region will work in collaboration with the Vice President of Sales as well as the individual Marketing Managers to assist in the development and growth of existing and new accounts. They will work to build existing markets through strong relationships and detailed market strategy.  

 Market Development The National Accounts Manager is responsible for expanding growth and sales within the National Account segment. Compensation is directly tied to the overall revenue growth of company as well as National/Regional chain growth. Expand distribution within existing territory, including competitive research and meeting with national and regional buyers. Work closely with Regional Vice President to develop state business plans. Become the market expert in territory, including the understanding of pricing strategies, incentive opportunities, key events and critical target consumer influences. In charge of creating and presenting yearly budgetary spends and determine ROI on planned programs in the national/regional chain environment. Continue to service the needs of existing customers. Aid in the growth of online sales and marketing of products through e-commerce.

Distributor Management Develop a clear understanding of organizational hierarchy within each distributor. Build strong working relationships with key business influencers within each distributor through daily/weekly interactions. Create and present annual business plan to Key Account Management (KAM) and Executive/Senior Distributor MGT. Critical to develop a deep knowledge of each market and the governing laws of each territory/region. Work with executive level distributor contacts to plan annual revenue goals based on sales history, account purchasing, market/category share, market potential for Southern Champion products and marketing calendar. Educate distributor sales management on product; assisting them in development of product knowledge and building sales presentation

Retail Development
National Account Manager is responsible for assessing and developing market relevant product assortment, display options and expansion of product offering at retail. Develop a retail attack plan specific to chains and regions. National Account will develop a retail call plan based upon HT/MT/LTM and LT retail classifications and delegation of regional meetings through Market Managers. National Account Manager is responsible for helping retailer improve profitability through improved turns, pricing strategies, product placement, and effective promotions. Drive retail sales through effective placement of Southern Champion products thru point of sale and promotional material.  
Brand Development
Develop a deep understanding of competitive landscape in your respective market Collect and analyze retailer and consumer feedback Identify and work key consumer events in your territory
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.  
The ability to analyze business through Nielsen, Case and Revenue growth as well as consumer insights.

Strategic Planning – Identifies the key actions that will make significant contributions to the beverage industry.  Helps establish long-term goals and plans accordingly.

 Exhibits good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
 An ability to maintain flexibility and composure under pressure.   
 10 years + Supplier/Distributor related field *ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE* sales/Key Account Management (KAM) experience preferred.
 Knowledge and experience in distributor management.
 Strong Understanding of the business practices of key National and Regional chains.
 Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Business Administration degree. 
 Must have good existing relationships with convenience and grocery chain buyers.

Fast paced environment. Individual needs to be able to operate both autonomously and within a dynamic team environment.  Must be self-motivated. Travel required to successfully carry out responsibilities 50+% Possess advanced PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Nielsen/IRI) and the ability to use these skills creatively.
