What You Need To Know

The Merchandising Manager is directly responsible for the NY Metro Merchandising Team. The Merchandiser Manager will drive the Priorities of our Supplier Partners through Consistent Hands-On Training and Consistent Individual Engagement. Developing a first-class Merchandiser Team that are promotable and will be the future leaders of SGWS will be your number one function.

 

  • Conduct Weekly Work-With & Coaching Calls to develop Team’s Merchandising Skills
  • Work in field to ensure the proper level of service is being provided to our retailer partners
  • Works with Merchandiser Director to develop Goals & Incentives that drive Suppliers Priorities.
  • Holds Team Accountable & Updated on all Supplier Goals / Incentives
  • Holds Team accountable for Planning / Follow-Up of a Diverse Account Universe
  • Holds Team accountable for Survey Execution in Merchandising Account Universe

Overview

The Mgr, Merchandising is responsible for daily routing and deployment of merchandising teams to ensure that Southern Glazer s products are available and supported by point-of-sale materials in the accounts. The Merchandising Manager is responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of all Merchandisers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the selection, development, motivation, and retention of staff
  • Develop the daily routing schedule for teams
  • Monitor GPS usage and analyze data as available
  • Work in the field to ensure the proper level of service is provided
  • Receive, investigate and resolve internal and external customer complaints and requests
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements
  • Responsible for point of sale facility and equipment
  • Ensure OSHA compliance as it relates to equipment and personnel
  • Provide brand-specific product education and training tools to enhance the knowledge/performance of staff
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial control processes
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinates Point of Sale ‘POS’ and Personnel resources to accomplish Team Goals
  • Works closely with Sales Team to coordinate and align on shared directives
  • Works closely with Trade Development Managers to align on POS Inventory / Focuses
  • Updates Sales on Current POS Inventory and new item arrivals to ensure speed of execution
  • Works with Warehouse Team ensure Supplier / Key Account Needs are being met efficiency
  • Coordinates All Supplier Blitz’s & Surveys to ensure resources being allocated effectively
  • Identify & recommend opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements
  • Provide brand-specific product education and training tools to enhance the knowledge/performance of Team
  • Responsibly for Teams adherence to Company Policies and the SGWS FAMILY Values.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of experience in retail management, beverage industry, or similar field
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid drivers license, and the ability to obtain and maintain auto liability insurance by State laws

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time may include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include driving throughout the day with segments up to 2 hours
  • May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs
