What You Need To Know

This position reports to the Senior Director, National Business Continuity. It is a highly visible position that will collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization to implement a comprehensive Emergency Management program to enable Southern Glazer’s to efficiently plan for and respond to a business interruption event. This position will lead the development of a comprehensive Emergency Management program to include threat monitoring, incident response, plan testing, reporting, and day-to-day program operations. 

 

  • Knowledge and work experience involving corporate facilities, supply chain logistics, warehouse operations, and distribution management is preferred
  • Proven experience communicating, presenting, and working with executive management teams
  • Ability to provide after-hours or on-call support as required
  • Flexibility to travel when required

 

Overview

This “hands-on” role includes being tactical in conducting organizational research; developing emergency policies and life safety protocols; writing detailed emergency and incident response plans and procedures; coordinating testing and exercise activities; building training curriculums; and distributing outreach and awareness communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Owns the enterprise-wide Emergency Management program, responsible for the design, development, exercising, and execution of a comprehensive set of detailed of Emergency Management guides and incident response playbooks (ex: severe weather, earthquake, active shooter, hazmat, fire, civil unrest, labor strikes, etc.)
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the corporate Business Continuity program management office including developing program reporting, tracking performance metrics, managing corrective action initiatives, and performing real-time threat monitoring and executing incident response plans in the event of a business interruption incident
  • In response to a business interruption event, assist leadership teams with the expedient recovery of impacted business processes by coordinating all required life safety and emergency response activities
  • Maintain a working understanding of business processes, assets, facilities, responsibilities, regulatory requirements, and interdependencies of the business so that the requirements for these will be incorporated into any incident response and Emergency Management plans
  • Perform risk analyses to evaluate points of vulnerability, single-points-of-failure, life safety issues, and proactively identify risk avoidance and mitigation strategies

  • Perform regular reviews and updates of all program materials to ensure that the quality, accuracy, and relevancy of all program documentation is consistently maintained as per corporate standards and are in compliance with the latest standards for emergency response
  • Partner with Safety, Security, Facility, Human Resources, and other operational teams to coordinate the development and testing of all Emergency Management plans to assess the operational readiness, viability, and vulnerabilities of each plan
  • Develop policies, procedures, templates, standards, and documentation in support of the deployment, management, and sustainability of a centralized Emergency Management program
