What You Need To Know


The Credit & Collections Clerk is responsible for strategically and proactively coordinating the most efficient SGWS sales team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Check and release daily orders for next day delivery
  • Follow up on sales payment commits
  • Review service charge report for incorrect charges
  • Reconcile customer accounts
  • Notify customers of discrepancies
  • Post customer payments to accounts
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Maintain low delinquency percentage
  • Maintain accuracy of data input for customer orders, pickups and other tasks
  • Listen to customer needs and respond appropriately
  • Place collection and COD calls
  • Notify management of problems
  • Work closely with sales, communicate problems and discrepancies
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 years of experience
  • Knowledge with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulatory guidelines, and organizational objectives
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets in creating pivot tables, develop charts, and complex formulas

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
