Recycling Operations Manager

Full Time

OBJECTIVE: Overall responsibility for managing the recycling department. Includes receiving and shipping containers on a daily basis, processing the received containers according to their commodity, shipping to final destination based on material, and ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse and recycling equipment.

Scheduled shift: Monday-Friday

  • Hires, supervises, and trains 4-6 subordinates

  • Communicate with Purchasers regarding pick-up of commodities.
  • Coordinate product and recycling transfers between wholesalers.
  • Maintain Recycling Equipment per maintenance schedules.
  • Schedule and supervise Redemption Center deliveries.
  • Inventory product by code date on a weekly basis.
  • Reconcile inventory weekly.
  • Monthly physical inventory count and reconciliation.
  • Record and file freight claims.
  • Supervise warehouse and maintenance and recycling staff and track activity.
  • Order supplies including fuel, repack, shells and maintenance products.
  • Supervise maintenance of building and grounds to highest standards.
  • Assist and dispatch special deliveries as needed.
  • Handle telephone calls from delivery drivers.
  • Check in returning delivery trucks and supervise unloading.
  • Serve as backup in absence of any Operations Staff, on all shifts.
  • Assist on special projects as needed.
  • Prepare Operating Budgets and Budget Variance Reports
  • Inventory pallets and cooperage at month end.
  • Monitor temperature in C.E.W. and Keg Room daily.
  • Maintain and enforce Safety Policy throughout the facility.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to supervise 4-6 subordinates.
  • Excellent communication ability.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the job (accommodations due to disability or religious reasons will be evaluated in compliance with the law).

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations, or related field, required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in warehouse/operations supervisory role.
