Craft Massachusetts is a member of the Sheehan Family Companies and a preeminent beverage distributor in the Metro Boston, Central Mass and Western Mass territories. Founded in 2002, Craft Mass was originally focused on a vast portfolio of craft beer, imports and artisanal ciders, however in March 2012, the Blueprint Brands division was established to target the growing category of craft spirits. Today, the Blueprint Brands wine and spirits division is growing aggressively and is looking to add key personnel to help catapult this growth.

Objective: This position is central to the success of Blueprint Brands Division of Wine & Spirits growth. An exemplary candidate must demonstrate critical thinking and thoughtful leadership. This person is responsible for ensuring the successful sale and distribution of the Spirits and Wine Portfolio throughout the Craft Massachusetts footprint. This individual will be responsible for developing new business at current no-buy accounts, growing current distribution, along with maintaining an existing key account list, and, managing assigned sales representatives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Sales Rep Management
  • Develop and leverage effective customer relations and promote the goodwill of the Company
  • Lead, supervise and direct all Sales Representatives to ensure the greatest possible sales and distribution of the total portfolio
  • Nurture and develop a healthy, competitive work environment for all Sales Representatives, driving continuous growth and learning within the team
  • Responsible for the timely collection of all Accounts Receivable within Sales Representatives' primary accounts, according to the terms of MA ABCC dept. credit calendar
  • Responsible for successful implementation of Blueprint team's monthly and quarterly PFP
  • Responsible for maintaining territory routing and pro-actively administering changes
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining new rep on-boarding and training materials; ensuring new Sales Representatives are on-boarded properly and held to the high values and standards of all Sheehan Family Company employees

Account Management
  • Maintain effective customer relations and promote the goodwill on the company throughout the trade
  • Responsible for the timely collection of all Accounts Receivable within Sales Representatives' primary accounts, according to the terms of MA ABCC dept. credit terms
  • Grow relationships with top accounts and maintain a weekly visitation schedule
  • Maintain key account call frequency, driving growth and product visibility for the success of the portfolio
  • Cover routes, as needed

  • Identify sales opportunities for all Blueprint brands
  • Assist in the selling of the entire Craft Massachusetts' portfolio when applicable
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly sales objectives and plan of action related to business activities
  • Maintain awareness of industry and respond to new developments particularly within craft, artisan spirits
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of territory and market conditions
  • Work alongside general sales team to field and follow up on leads, consult on beverage programs, and be available to for supplemental tasting appointments and product information
  • Train and educate general sales team on Blueprint Brands' portfolio, including both virtual and in-person trainings, ride- alongs and other trainings as assigned
  • Responsible for managing team expenses and keeping within budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree or 5+ years distributor experience with 3+ years management experience
  • Direct experience in beverage industry, specifically with wine and spirits
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity when given outcome driven direction
  • Expertise of legal requirements regarding the sale and delivery of alcoholic beverages
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical aptitude
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong level of comfort with all forms of technology
  • Travel required: 4-5 days a week in the trade. Mostly within Metro-Boston footprint but travel will be required to all parts of Craft Massachusetts' trade territories
  • Valid and clean driver's license in the state of MA, with active auto insurance
  • WSET Spirits, Level 2 or willingness to achieve
