Job Description/Responsibilities

The Quality Systems and Training Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving Sazerac's quality management system by imbedding quality into company ways of working and ensuring all team members understand their role in delivering the best quality products and services to our consumers and customers. They will develop & implement quality policies, establish digital quality roadmap enabling continuous improvement and will create the company's quality training curriculum.
  • Use PDS (Performance Development System) to enhance performance within the company through evaluation, planning, and goal execution. Strive to constantly develop oneself as a valuable asset through personal and professional growth and attention to the position's outcomes.
  • Identify training needs and design development plan, programs and content for the purpose of preparing for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Develop, update and implement necessary Quality and Food Safety policies, procedures and work instructions. Centralize documentation of these systems as part of the Outcomes & Processes Project, ensuring ease of access, use, and maintenance by the organization.
  • Own existing digital quality data systems (Intelex, TrackSys) and establish a digital quality data roadmap to improve performance visibility and drive continuous improvement programs in partnership with product development, manufacturing and IT. Implement new digital quality data systems as identified.
  • Designs and maintains quality scorecards across the organization, ensuring information is reported accurately and in a timely manner. Performs trend analysis on quality data to support rapid issue resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plan development that will eliminate risks/defects, lower cost of poor quality and enable continuous improvement.
  • Establish well organized priorities for yourself and make sure team members and peers understand expectations of the priorities and tasks. Provide the appropriate parties with regular feedback and timely updates. Integral part of the Quality, Product Development and Consumer Affairs leadership team and it's issues and projects.
  • Creates the company's quality training curriculum for all functions in partnership with HR. Oversees development of training courses by others and personally creates new training material as necessary. Delivers in-person and recorded training sessions. Ensures new quality processes and procedures are launched with clearly defined training plans and materials. Supports hiring, mentoring and development of quality personnel.
  • Through successful implementation and maintenance of our quality management system, this position will advance our global business by ensuring our ability to be awarded new business while maintaining our current base.
  • Ensure Sazerac's quality management system complies with all legal and regulatory requirements for Quality, Food Safety and R&D activities. This includes our 3rd party customers, new countries globally we decide to compete in, and any changes in the rules and regulations. Acts as company liaison to ISO registrar and external auditors, maintaining external audit calendar and ensuring all sites comply with audit response requirements.
  • Conduct quality management system audits at internal plants, suppliers, co-manufacturers and co-packers to identify gaps in the systems and opportunities to improve quality and food safety.


Qualifications/Requirements

MUST
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related scientific field
  • Food Safety Certification or proven experience working with Global Food Safety standards
  • Strong computer skills and high comfort using technology and systems
  • Self-starter. Motivation and ability to figure things out and work independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • 5 years Experience in the food & beverage industry
  • 5 years Experience in Quality System Implementation
  • 5 years ISO/HACCP implementation/management experience
  • 5 years Experience working with external/internal auditors
  • 3 years Lab/QC or related experience
PREFERRED
  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • 3 years Experience driving change in an organization
  • 3 years Training, coaching, and curriculum development.
