Job Description/Responsibilities

Plans and schedules production for the distillery/aging operations at Barton Brands of Kentucky; ensure distillery/aging production and storage plans are accurate and meets expectations with the overall department production plan. Creates and leads warehouse barrel selection plans to ensure that the quality parameters are satisfied and production plans are met. Plans and schedules the materials and raw ingredient purchases to ensure the whiskey inventory satisfies the long range goals.

  • Plan and schedule production for the distillery/ageing operations at BBK.
  • Provide world class customer service by managing the barrel inventory to ensure all customer needs are met. Ensure that all BBK barrels are available for customer requested bottling dates.
  • Lead BBK production planning functions to ensure that the appropriate amount of inventory is held to meet expectations to the long range distillery plan, while minimizing production costs and improving production efficiencies. Participate in and lead process improvements that deliver cost savings in the production planning areas.
  • Work with Brand Managers on production plans for new products and brands.
  • Support the bottling operations in achieving desired efficiencies by providing a stable Aging warehouse production schedule. Ensures adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental Practices.
  • Ensure that the BBK whiskey inventory matches the long range distillery plan. Participates in the aging whiskey planning process.
  • Implement a PDS for myself that will move me toward improving at least 1 competency at any given time and improving performance against position description outcomes.
  • Develop a Career plan for myself that will allow me to achieve my overall career objectives. Continue to work on existing career development plans.
  • Utilize the BBK systems to maximize efficiencies and improve quality. Review and update processes related to the Distillery Operations.
  • Identify, streamline, and document the Distillery/Aging production process and focus on improving efficiencies, reducing errors, and improving quality.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Requires Experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)

  • Experience with System 21 ERP software
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry
  • Experience in development of query programs on AS400 or similar proficiency
