Job Description/Responsibilities

Are you looking for a new challenge to build some of the world's most iconic brands globally? As the Brand Marketing Director - American Whiskey Portfolio Brand Director, you'll lead a large portfolio of award-winning whiskey and you'll be able to change the brand building game!

Bring your creative side, solve problems, and be pro-active and drive initiatives. As the Director of the portfolio, you'll be driving brand development strategic work and commercial activities to include, brand strategy, annual planning (spending and volume), SKU management, consumer engagement, customer engagement, whiskey planning, allocations, and brand communication and brand objectives.

  • Develop annual budget for US and global markets: create marketing plans, implement pricing strategy, develop channel tactics, create consumer communication plans and execute strategy to reach sales objectives. Develop price strategy by market and country. Direct and manage the implementation of this strategy and its effect on our business.
  • Lead the development of brand positioning work. Develop communication and activation plans for all key brands. Build long range marketing plans that develop volumes, gather competitive intelligence within the categories to build, borrow or buy ahead of the competition. Cultivate people, processes and systems that connect brands to consumers.
  • Work closely with Sales team to ensure that brand and country/state prioritizations are aligned, and brands managed are performing on profit, volume and KPI metrics. Direct and manage sales team to meet yearly financial goals. Create, manage, implement marketing budget and plan each year.
  • Lead the strategic brand planning work for bourbon brands. Lead brand teamwork, brand meetings, planning, and execution/activation of strategic plans related to our bourbon brands. In regard to Global Strategic Plan contribute to overall strategy, distribution, marketing, labeling, pricing, consumer targeting and customer interaction.
  • Understand the category, customers and consumers and use that intelligence to inform the brand development process. Solve problems for consumers and customers. Manage projects to on time and on budget.
  • Share the brand positioning and strategic brand plans with agencies to guide them to efficient, effective and creative solutions that connect consumers to Sazerac brands. Make decisions on and implement media buys, POS design & distribution, and promotional efforts. Work with PR and Events manager to engage media and influencers.
  • Establish well organized priorities for yourself and your team. Identify the appropriate team members needed for success. Define roles of team members and ensure their understanding. Manage projects to on time and on budget.
  • Develop and follow action plan to gain learning experiences needed for self and team members to grow and avail internal career development opportunities


Qualifications/Requirements

MUST HAVES
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 5+ years of Brand Marketing or Trade Marketing experience
  • 5+ years of Budgeting, planning and/or financial analysis experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing scale brands - full P & L
  • 5+ years business experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Record of successful leadership
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and computer application skills
PREFERRED
  • Master of Business Administration degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of Alcoholic Beverage Industry compliance experience
  • 5+ years of Experience with three tier distribution system
  • 5+ years of Pricing Experience
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain Experience
  • 5+ years of Wine and spirits industry experience
  • National Accounts Experience (on and off premise)
