What is a Machine Operator?
The purpose of the position is to ensure the set-up of the machine and the constant operation of the machine. This person is responsible for ensuring the machine produces high-quality products, runs smoothly and at a capacity, and is properly maintained.
A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willing to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Read and write English
• Bilingual with Spanish would be awesome but not necessary
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse/production environment
• Strong work ethic
• Reliable mode of transportation
• Willingness to work early hours and overtime if necessary
• Able to work with hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, etc..)
• Able to go up and down moving stairs and work at heights up to 15 feet.
• Able to learn and work on light industrial equipment (cleaning, maintenance)
• Understanding of production processes
• This role could eventually evolve into a team leader role of up to 5 people
Minimum Qualifications:
One to three months of related/previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, production facility, or similar relevant experience
High school education or GED
