Red Bull North America seeks an attorney to advise on Litigation and Labor & Employment matters. This attorney will report to the Director, Litigation, Labor & Employment and support a broad scope of both employment-related and litigation activities. This individual will be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents, presenting clear recommendations, and assuring legal compliance.

LitigationSupport the management of threatened and pending litigation for Red Bull North America and its affiliated companies including tort, contract, and employment disputes.
Includes management of outside counsel, supporting the development of litigation and dispute resolution strategies, investigation of claims, review of pleadings, and management of the discovery process.
Labor & Employment LawProvide advice on the full range of labor & employment law issues including hiring, leave and accommodation, discipline, terminations, compliance, and compensation and benefits.
Review and provide guidance on drafting and development of employment and HR-related policies and procedures, including those regarding employee discipline and termination, wage and hour classification and affirmative action and other hiring policies.
Provide advice and counsel regarding potentially high exposure terminations and investigations, employment litigation, administrative claims, government audits and labor grievances.
Negotiate resolution of pre-litigation employment-related claims.
Draft and present trainings on employment and labor issues.
Negotiate, draft and interpret agreements that involve labor and employment issues.
Internal ResourceResearch and provide early assessment of facts and law to communicate associated risks to internal clients and colleagues in the Legal Department.
Support Red Bull internal compliance efforts.
Provide first level support on litigation and labor and employment questions from department lawyers.
Maintain regular communication and report on significant case developments, litigation trends, and employment law updates with internal clients
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertisethat matter most for this role:
- JD from a top tier law school
- At least 3 years of relevant experience at a top tier law firm, in-house at a comparable company, or some combination thereof
- Current member in good standing, or registered in-house counsel, with the California bar
- Experience with employment, labor and general commercial litigation
- Experience providing advice and counsel on employment law topics
- Experience drafting pleadings and motions, and managing discovery
- JD required
- Fluency (verbal & written) in English; additional languages a plus
- Travel up to: 10%
