About The Position
R6 Distillery is Los Angeles' First Bourbon Distillery. We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Manager for both on- and off- premise accounts in Southern California.
Hiring Field Sales Manager for Los Angeles First Bourbon distillery: We are looking for long-term commission-based help from an ambitious, passionate, honest sales representative.  You will need to saturate the Southern California regions - - including Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego Counties and work closely with our distributor to achieve success.  This job will be a lot of work (read: boots on the ground) but will reward you for your hard earned placements.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The R6 Field Sales Manager sells our organization's spirits to both on and off premise accounts by developing new prospects and servicing existing customers in the Southern California territories.  You are strategic and knowledgeable about the wine and & spirits industry, great at building and managing relationships, take pride in successful selling, and providing excellent service.  You are full of energy, enjoy being in the field, are already extremely well connected with buyers and decision-makers, are eager to learn, grow, and face challenges.  You understand the concepts of luxury, sophistication, and elegance. Preferably you have experience selling whiskey and some basic knowledge of wine.  You are reliable and honest.  You will be responsible for maintaining records of sales achievements and quotas.  You will need knowledge of our organization's range of products, as well as the R6 philosophy and policies.
  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of R6 Company sales goals; develop and maintain an organized list of key accounts in the territory
  • Sell the R6 Brand to retailers in coordination with EPIC Wines & Spirits
  • Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to review R6 Brand program priorities
  • Actively present and sell the brand at all times
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the Company’s priorities and customers’ needs to include selling, display ideas, new products, cold box, shelf, well and back bar placements and resets, drink lists, and promotions
  • Understand and work with management on inventory levels by being aware of current inventory and out of stock situations and by alerting management to possible fluctuations in demand
  • Ensure maximum R6 Brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account standards as determined by R6 management and using effective and current point of sale materials when appropriate
  • Maintain product levels in accounts by taking inventory and restocking shelves (where legally permissible)
  • Regularly attend selected promotional events
  • Responsible for making market calls (both on- and off-premise) at a minimum of 4-5 days per week in various markets 
  • Direct accounts in proper and effective merchandising and consumer awareness of The R6 Brand by: 
    • Guiding proper shelf management positions
    • Merchandising R6
    • Conduct product sampling/demonstrations
    • Educate account staff on priority brands by administering educational staff training
    • Service accounts by delivering products to customers in extenuating circumstances, handling customer issues and complaints and referring these issues, as appropriate to R6 management 
    • Maintain professional relationships with wholesaler by participating in effective work with sales calls, and sales blitzes
    • Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publication and establishing personal networks
    • Organize on-premise sales team meetings on a monthly basis to communicate R6 Brand strategies, upcoming objectives, and exchange ideas and share opportunities to promote brands into top accounts
    • Look for opportunities to expand brand visibility via special events within the local market

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Hungry for earning and comfortable with commission-based model 
  • High level of professionalism and experience working with well-organized sales-oriented companies
  • Must be highly organized, have attention to detail and excellent time management ability
  • An entrepreneurial drive and proven 3+ years of field sales experience, including sourcing new leads and face-to-face selling
  • Must have business acumen and keen negotiating skills 
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements 
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time
  • Considered a "closer" and can provide evidence to support direct sales achievement
  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical from managing distributors to calling on accounts
  • Excellent computer skills
