Territory Sales Manager

Location Based: Houston based, Texas state market
This is an extremely rewarding and challenging sales oriented role, requiring a driven and result-oriented sales leader who will be tasked with the success of our company in their assigned region. The overall growth of the business in this region will rest on the sales ability, industry relationships, and leadership of said visionary candidate.
Although this position is sales focused, you will also be responsible for marketing, accounting, and distribution management. She/he will be expected to grow the business throughout the region in a short period of time within assigned goals. This is a hands-on sales managing position that requires extreme industry sales ability with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable industry success. He or she must work towards strengthened the brand into an area wide household name beginning in year one year. Work all regional sales channels to identify and established core account base in first few weeks. Be ready to come in and make the job your own.
Build and develop strong working relationships with Distributor/(RNDC) and Account “decision makers” and their teams. Develop channel/customer-specific marketing/sales programs to help achieve profit and sales goals. Analyze depletion and consumption trends to direct outcome of sales goals. Develop appropriate call frequency on all regional accounts, distributor sales teams, and regional specialists to ensure maximization of customer/market intelligence. Analyze impact of key programs, evaluate them for their effectiveness, and build on successful programs. Develop insights to advise and inform team of strategies that drive volume and profit growth. Proficient comprehension of marketplace dynamics, including chain, independents On & Off, regional chain accounts. Build collaborative long-term retail partnerships by delivering more value than other suppliers. Implement the regional and national chain programs and goals by managing distributors personnel selling efforts. Initiate regular correspondence to communicate chain account progress and/or setbacks to all impacted field sales and distributor personnel. Achieve targeted distribution through effective personal selling efforts. Conduct analysis and develop presentations that increase display activity, expand distribution, and optimize shelf position that increases volume and market share. Sell and manage schematics that develop the corporate brand guidelines in regard to position on the shelf, arrangement/adjacency, and position utilization, gaining effective presentation of brands to consumers in retail stores. Ensure that retail-pricing guidelines by brand are in line with corporate brand strategy. Engage in professional sales and business practices necessary to enhance customer satisfaction and business results. Analyze data for gap analysis, create insights, and identify trend drivers in the market. Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organization in your region.
Assure that the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to the public and our shareholders.
Act as a liaison between the organization in your region and the community, building relationships with peer organizations when appropriate.
With guidance, lead in the design, delivery, and quality of programs and services.
Stay abreast of current trends and competitors related to the organization’s products and services, and anticipate future trends and competition likely to have an impact on its work.
Collect and analyze evaluation information that measures the success of the organization’s program efforts; refine or change programs in response to that information.
Understand distributor motivations and work in hand with distributor management to create proper and effective sales programming and incentives for targeted accounts, and distributor employees.
Develop and oversee annual budgets that support operating plans for all regional business verticals.
Prudently manage the resources within our budget guidelines and in accordance with current laws/regulations.
Provide prompt, thorough, and accurate information to keep the company appropriately informed of the organization’s financial position.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 plus years of sales and business development experience, beverage industry preferred
· Knowledge of beverage industry structure, promotion requirements and three tier system preferred
· Demonstrated track record of sales achievement in a hand-on sales environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers and brokers; ability to collaborate at all levels
· Excellent at managing time, priorities, and expenses
· Able to work independently while being a team player
· Flexibility to travel as needed
· Local Market Residency, no relocation provided
