This position is a hybrid position between two facilities, Mumm Napa and Kenwood Vineyards.

Position Summary :

Supporting our winery sites during key points through out the year on a rotational basis and under general supervision, efficiently operates Kenwood Vineyards bottling equipment, Kenwood Vineyards press pad and cellar equipment, and Mumm Napa tirage and disgorge bottling equipment using a wide variety of technical, mechanical and manual skills, monitoring and ensuring the product quality in adherence to standards and specifications. Troubleshoots problems when required to maximize process efficiency and meet production plans. Assits with the inventory control and traceability for all packaging materials, operating supplies, additives and ingredients, and bulk and finished goods inventories including recording of material movements, data entry, and physical inventory activities.

Key Bottling Responsibilities: (Kenwood Vineyards 45% & Mumm Napa 35%)

  • Set up and operation of Kenwood Vineyards and Mumm Napa production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for safely operating all winery equipment, adherence to PPE policies, identification of risks and hazards, and recommendations for improvements to reduce and/or eliminate any unsafe conditions
  • Maintains mechanical bottling equipment including change-overs, troubleshooting, and light repairs
  • Transfers and tracks packaging materials and finished goods as required in the bottling department
  • Delivers BOM supplies to the bottling lines as directed by Work Order instructions
  • Responsible for the inventory control of packaging materials, operating supplies, and finished goods
  • Assists with the data entry and reporting of bottling related movements/transactions into bottling databases and PRW USA's ERP system as required
  • Responsible for the quality control and traceability of packaging and finished goods inventories
  • Monitor, measure, and track data related to the performance of bottling equipment (i.e downtime, quality failures, etc.)
  • Trouble shoots all quality and inventory related issues; completes problem solving and investigations as assigned
  • Provides back up support for warehousing operations
  • Moves products and supplies throughout the warehouse by use of forklift
  • May coordinate and or deliver goods/documentation between departments
  • Responsible for all sustainability matters in assigned work area, completes regularly scheduled inspections/audits, and notifies supervisor of any required attention
  • Monitor, measure, and track environmental data related to bottling operations, identification of any non-compliance issues and/or opportunities for improvement related to use of natural resources and influences to waste streams
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Key Harvest Responsibilities : (20%)

  • Operate fruit receiving and processing equipment
  • Facilitate pressing operations
  • Transfers, Flotation and racking of juice from tank to tank
  • Set up and monitor pump-overs in a quality and time efficient way
  • Removal of pomace from tanks & presses
  • General cleaning and sanitation of winery & equipment
  • Moves equipment, materials, and supplies throughout the winery site by use of forklift
  • Accurately complete work orders and other tracking documentation
  • Follows standard operating procedures in the performance of all cellar activities to ensure maximum productivity and wine quality objectives are achieved
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to timely and accurate reporting of all work related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting safety awareness to co-workers, advising the supervisor of any unsafe acts and conditions, wearing required personal protective equipment and following confined space protocol where necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Skills / Qualifications / Experience :

    Essential:

    Minimum 2 years winery production environment experience required

    Ability to prioritize, manage workflow, and meet deadlines

    Experience operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment

    Accuracy and attention to detail a must

    Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

    Ability to repeatedly lift 40-50 lb. packages

    Forklift certification

    Basic mechanical skills

    Problem Solving tools

    Knowledge of good manufacturing practices

    Desirable:

    Previous wine bottling experience preferred

    Bilingual verbal and written proficiency (Spanish/English)

    Proficiency in ERP software systems, and Microsoft Office

    Basic statistical process control

    Interpersonal communication skills

    Continuous improvement toolbox (5S, SMED)

    Special Conditions :

  • Flexible working hours and ability to work overtime as required
  • Working conditions in certain areas of the winery are cold, wet, slippery and noisy. Involved exposure to hazardous conditions. Irregular shifts and long hours may be required during harvest. Frequent walking, including going up and down stairs is required

  • Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $22.50 - $27.00 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
