Position Title: Senior Manager, Corporate Reputation

Location: New York, NY (Headquarters)

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Reputation (Earned Media/Issues and Crisis Management), plays a key role in the advancement and protection of the Pernod Ricard USA Corporate Brand. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Reputation, the person in this role is responsible for the execution of always on publicity, crisis and issues management, executive visibility and thought leadership for the PRUSA Corporate Brand and its key executives and spokespeople. This individual will share responsibility for execution of the corporate brand strategy with the Director, Corporate Reputation, owning the development of best in class earned media to drive top of mind awareness and engagement with key stakeholders. This role also will collaborate with the Director to manage our Agency of Record, and establish metrics to measure success.

Major Responsibilities /Accountabilities:


  • Drive implementation of media strategy to generate publicity in major business and trade press, as well as key national media
  • Collaborate with the Director, Reputation to drive strategic, quality thinking to advance corporate narrative and thought leadership platforms
  • Execute Executive Visbility and thought leadership programs
  • Collaborate with Director, Reputation on holistic corporate brand strategy and coordinated execution

  • Public Relations/Publicity

  • Identify compelling stories that align with the company's business goals
  • Manage business as usual media relations
  • Oversee development of written external outreach materials (e.g., key messages, press releases)
  • Drive agency to continually craft creative pitches that achieve a steady stream of news coverage about the company
  • Coordinate with global and PR NA communications colleagues to drive a consistent corporate narrative
  • Capture key insights from media coverage of our company, competitors, and thought-leaders in other industries, and recommend how to leverage them to advance and protect our reputation.

  • Executive Visibility

  • Evaluate and manage opportunities for executive participation in media interviews, speeches, bylined articles, conferences and events
  • Manage media training and opportunities for key executives and spokespeople
  • Lead story-mining sessions with key executives and spokespeople to identify narratives and talking points for relevant opportunities
  • Lead development of external presentations

  • Issues and Crisis Management

  • Manage crisis media relations
  • Lead crisis media training for executives
  • Stay current on key issues - and anticipate future issues -- that create opportunities to advance and or protect the corporate brand
  • Recommend - and drive implementation of - "on-brand" actions in response to such issues.
  • Prepare Q&As and briefing documents on key issues related to the corporate narrative
  • Drive deployment of relevant messaging across appropriate external and internal channels

  • Cross Functional Initiative Leadership and Support

  • Work closely with Brand PR and Culture and Brand Publicity directors to identify opportunities to convert brand news into coverage highlighting key company messages.
  • Collaborate with S&R Director to develop external communications strategies in support of S&R programs.
  • Collaborate with Public Affairs to develop corporate and industry priorities.
  • Lead association partnerships (i.e. DISCUS, FAAR)
  • Lead and point of contact for internal requests (ie. M&A Comms, Q+A development)
  • Collaborate with Finance to create and communicate a compelling narrative to analysts and investors.
  • Team with Manager, Corporate Reputation (owned media) to mentor and develop Coordinator, Reputation and Publicity.

  • Job Requirements :

    The role requires an independent, results-driven self-starter with business acumen, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions. Successful candidate will be a trusted strategic advisor, and a good storyteller. This person must have a strongentrepreneurial abilityto work around obstacles, drive results, and maintain a bias for action with a pilot/learn/scale approach . It iscriticalthat the person in this role has an "always-on" mentality and work ethic, aligned to volatility and speed of a 24/7 news cycle.

    EducationMinimum Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent

    Experience/Background: At least 7 years Experience. Corporate Communications and Regulated Industry experienceis a plus.
