Position Summary:

This role is part of our new NADESS (North America Data Excellence Shared Services) team where we are partnering across Pernod Ricard North America (PRNA) to manage and validate foundational data systems and needs. The team will focus on five primary pillars of data: acquisition, governance, training/communication, and quality. The team will take these priorities to effectively provide data expertise and structure across all levels of Pernod Ricard, ultimately driving sustained progression to all local/global initiatives.

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Data Management is responsible for managing the relationship, coordinating and overseeing all external 3rd party data (i.e. Nielsen, VIP, NABCA, DISCUS) and information within the organization. A successful candidate will work closely with cross functional teams to align and prioritize external data deliverables and accuracy. In addition, they will partner with external data vendors to ensure a proactive approach to data management and data governance.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Create and implement a Master Data Management strategy to ensure data standardization, quality, governance and provide a single source-of-truth for the domains.
  • Define optimal data flows of domain data across all source and target data systems (i.e. hierarchies, attributes/properties, export/import routines, validations).
  • Management of all external data vendor relationships which will include overall responsibility for input, prioritization, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Architecture leads to launch scalable and reliable data solutions, support system integration efforts, and create operational efficiencies through automation and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Business Leadership to define vision, data standards and change management roadmaps.
  • Work seamlessly with the Go-to- Market and Portfolio Growth Strategy teams to align to all road mapped deliverables of capabilities and future deliverables, including user acceptance testing for new and enhanced capabilities.
  • Operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, to define business rules, and to implement and improve data standards, quality, integrity, and consistency.
  • Represent integrating and consolidating external data into global platforms.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Master Data Management within the NA Technology Data and Analytics platform.
  • Participate on data quality improvement initiatives.

  • Nature & Scope

    This position reports to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Data Management and will interact directly with Pernod Ricard USA Transformation and IT teams. It is critical for the individual in this role to embrace strong attention to detail and analytical skills. This role manages over all externally sourced shipment, depletion and market data across PR USA systems. The impact of the position is foundational to the organization and to the accuracy for all data. The nature of the role requires a self-starter with strong organization, commercial understanding, and communication skills.

    Key Requirements

    Education : Bachelor's degree.

    Experience / Background :

  • Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, and Data Quality domains, and MDM tools. Expertise with data product hierarchies, data structures, data mapping.
  • 5+ years of experience managing 3rd party data providers
  • Experience leading large cross functional teams to align and deliver projects.
  • Experience with data profiling, data cleansing, fuzzy matching, Product/Location hierarchy management.
  • Experience with MDM algorithms (matching, merging, unification, etc.).
  • Technical skills: SQL, strong Excel (i.e. V-lookup), Power BI preferred, reporting query tools, Tableau, MicroStrategy

  • Travel Estimate: 10% of time.
