The salary range for this role, based in New York is $ 124,300 to $ 186,500 , range will vary if location is outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate's experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

    Position Summary:

    The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for leading strategic brand plan development & implementation and innovation launch plan development for Chivas. He/she will exhibit a general manager mindset and will be responsible for initiatives that build brand equity and deliver brand performance and long-term profitable growth.

    This exciting role requires a dynamic and experienced Senior Brand Manager who has a strong marketing, analytical and innovation background, is consumer centric, and can balance strategy with execution to deliver results. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead strategic planning: Partner with cross-functional and external partners on the 3-5 year strategic plan. Own and deliver the annual strategic planning process.
  • Lead agency and communications planning: Lead day-to-day relationship with creative agency and partner with cross-functional team to deliver on brand strategy and deliver on communication strategy and brand platforms that build equity and drive business performance. Brief agencies for campaign and to execute annual operating plan. Manage PR agency and influencers to drive relevant and influential placements that deliver positive brand associations and consideration.
  • Develop brand campaign, manage creative & production processes: Collaborate closely with Creative Content Director to translate global strategy and brand guardrails to US market. Collaborate with Multicultural Team to ensure cultural insights and brand values are embedded in strategy and communication plans. Develop and execute media campaigns in partnership with global/US leadership from concept to production.
  • Manage media plan and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM): Partner with Marketing Accelerator Team in the execution of media plan, and in the measurement and continuous improvement of marketing and expenditures to deliver ROI and meet brand and portfolio KPIs.
  • Partner with Insights on research: Partner with Insights to conduct analyses/research studies to advance brand narrative and improve consumer/competitive/demand understanding.
  • Steward Innovation process: Collaborate with Innovation and Innovation Insights Team to deliver innovation strategy and pipeline, including conducting consumer research, ideation, and concept development.
  • Deliver Strategic Brand Review: Assist with the development of the Strategic Brand Review by analyzing category opportunities, identifying key consumer insights, innovation opportunities, and activation strategies.
  • Manage Brand financials & marketing budget (A&P): Ensure brand financial health and performance relative to P&L targets, A&P budgets and benchmarks, and portfolio guidance.
  • Develop People: Manage direct report(s) and train and develop team members into strong brand managers.

  • Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Act as day-to-day general manager; develop brand Annual Operating Plan and Consumer Engagement Platform; Manage brand P&L, drive A&P spend guidelines
  • Support Director and VP coordination with BrandCos on asset creation; Deliver brand digital strategy/media engagement plans
  • Work with Innovation Hub on supporting brand innovation plans
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness of brand programs, in coordination with Director of Multicultural & Inclusivity
  • Always-on tracking of traditional and digital media strategies / trends, demand territories and occasions, and brand perceptions

  • Job Requirements:

    The role requires an experienced leader with strong management, analytical, organizational, and communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners. Strong entrepreneurial ability to work around obstacles, results driven, and a bias for action with a pilot/learn/scale approach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to marry strategy with creative by helping to lead the IAT process, develop strong and ownable brand assets and a holistic communications plan in partnership with the Creative Content Director.

  • S kills: Ability to lead and influence teams. Results-oriented and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to collaborate, align, and influence the agenda. Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional and agency working team, which includes but is not limited to the global brand owners, agencies, field marketing, sales, consumer insights, Marketing Accelerator, Finance, and other business departments, consultants, and external partners.
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); MBA or advanced degree preferable
  • Experience / Background: 7+ years of business experience, preferably with experience in a senior level role in CPG, agency or advertiser with at least 2 years working on the customer side. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing large and culturally iconic brands with large A&P spends. Must have demonstrated experience developing brand strategies grounded in insights and analytics that deliver results. Must have experience in managing and partnering with a broad set of stakeholders in matrix organization as well as external agency partners. Must have experience managing financials and business performance including budget management. Ideal candidate will have previous experience in innovation and media.

  • This position may travel up to 25% of the time.
