    Position Summary

    The QSE Supervisor isresponsible to identify, remove, and reduce hazards and risks. The lead will develop and implement policy that ensures compliance with all safety rules and regulations and to assist individuals to be in compliance and to improve the health and safety practices of the company.

    Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

    Implementation and Policy Development

  • Implement and deliver initial and refresher EHSQ training programs to operations team members and all new hires.

  • Conduct site risk assessments to ensure risks are identified. Work with the site leadership team to develop risk mitigation and or elimination strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct site assessments to ensure compliance with both internal and external requirements. Work with relevant stakeholders to develop solutions for non-conformances.
  • Manage and implement environmental, health & safety, and quality programs to meet both regulatory requirements and Pernod Ricard requirements.
  • Assist with the development with site JSAs and LOTO procedures.

  • Record Keeping

  • Conduct incident and accident investigations to determine root cause, preventative actions and track actions to closure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations. Maintain required recordkeeping documents as required, ensure timely reporting for all site permits.
  • Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation

  • Data Driven

  • Partner with site management to ensure applicable EHSQ related KPIs (accident rates, training participation, defects, etc.) are defined, tracked and measured on a regular basis. Focus should be on continuous improvement.

  • Conducts inspections where required.
  • Drive site environmental sustainability targets.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement with the site Quality Management system.

  • Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment.

  • Provides assistance and advice on EHS issues and makes recommendations to area managers.
  • Ability to work with employees and achieve safety cultural progression, maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees.

  • Nature & Scope

    The QSE Supervisor will report to the QSE Manager at TX Whiskey with a dotted line to the Head Distiller/Operations Manager at Smooth Ambler. A close-working relationships will be maintained with the Production Manager, the Blending and Process Manager, the Warehousing Supervisor - and others - to ensure safety rules and regulations are being met as developed. Confidentiality of issues is expected. This role has spending authority, with approval, to ensure safety and well-being of the employees is our priority.

    Key requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with reference standards (NFPA, OSHA, DISCUS, ISO)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and facilitate learning
  • Public speaking skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft products
