Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Communications, Public Relations and S&R, and as a key member of the Communications team, the Manager, Internal Communications is responsible for creating and executing dynamic internal communications plans and measuring their impact as well as promoting employee engagement, awareness and understanding of the organization's priorities and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and drive national internal communication strategy by identifying what is needed to raise the overall excellence of internal communications relating to the company, its brands and senior management, and developing metrics for evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Lead planning and execution of Responsib'ALL Day events across Canada, as aligned with S&R strategy and goals.
  • Manage & evolve existing communications vehicles (such as the intranet and the digital workspace, Canada Communications emails and the CEO's Podcasts) and work with various departments to translate all 'newsworthy' information/developments into interesting, exciting, succinct, and relevant employee content across all communications platforms.
  • Implement all internal programs developed by headquarters and adapt them to the Canadian market.
  • Lead quarterly "Town Hall" cross-Canada live communications: develop CEO messaging and in charge of the presentation to the organization to facilitate organizational alignment.
  • Communications deliverables for the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
  • Communications and events associated with the Great Places to Work, Canada's top 100 submission and gala.
  • Support the development & execution of the annual #CorbySafeRides initiative, social media strategy and website management.
  • Manage the Corporate Branding activities.
  • Provide crucial support to execute national internal events including conferences and executive roadshows, and act as the key point of contact for all.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the communications deliverables associated with the Annual Report.
  • Support change management by ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged with activities.

  • Problem-solver and highly adaptive: maintain composure under high stress situations, unexpected developments and changing priorities
  • Strategic thinker, excellent problem-solver, highly motivated, proactive, flexible and results-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization including senior management
  • Highly computer literate and technologically savvy with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint), familiarity with webpage platforms an asset
  • Relevant experience across leading social media platforms and blogging outlets is an asset
  • Fluency in both official languages is an asset

  • Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations (or equivalent)

  • Experience

  • Required: 5-7 years of experience in a communications role with a strong track record in creating employee engagement
