Position Title: Innovation Design/Production Manager - North America

Location: New York, NY

Introduction

PR North America is the largest region globally for the company. The market is diverse with some states that have awareness and usage of specific spirt categories and Pernod-Ricard brands, and others that are emerging. The spirit industry in North America is complex and constantly evolving. It's a fun and challenging environment with plenty of opportunity to make a mark. It's also an exciting time to be a key part of the Group's Marketing Transformation, with a significant step-up in Innovation at Pernod Ricard and the creation of the new North America Regional Innovation Hub.

Job Aim

The person needs to be an experienced design expert, who enjoys getting "stuck in" across the varying needs of the team, is flexible and can juggle multiple priorities on the go, knows how to truly collaborate for superior results and who is passionate about innovation. They need to have that #Gamechanger spirit that will make them go the extra mile to impact the business.

To deliver this vision this role will support the design and production needs across the team - from helping with concept graphics, presentation videos to supporting the package design and implementation. Depending on the needs/current projects of the team, this key team member may also flex their digital savvy to support our Test-Learn-Optimize (TLO) mentality - this could be designing a digital/web-based approach to concept testing or building an on-the-fly app.

Overall - we're looking for a candidate with strong design, digital and graphics skills who can flex those muscles into the varying design and production needs of the newly formed innovation hub.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Help bring to life the PRNA Innovation Hub vision by being the key support function for the graphics for all the concepting efforts for the Innovation Hub and Pipeline
  • Support the Concept Leader to bring to life mood boards or stimulus materials for the ideation and concepting workshops for both the Cross-portfolio and the Core Brands
  • Assist with the concept (design, graphics, mood boards) and importantly, initial packaging design of the three-year pipeline of concepts addressing under-served needs, leveraging trends, technology, packaging and/or our brands/RTM to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Facilitate the production/realization of design graphics into actual packaging together with Design Agencies as well as the R+D and Innovation managers
  • Support the team in bringing to life ideas - e.g., via videos, images, and presentations; actively support the team in bringing to life ideas for the Stage Gate Process; actively support the team to enhance key sell in presentations to the wider organization, by adding design flair and visually enhancing our presentations
  • Leverage your digital expertise and deep cultural and consumer centricity to help the team bring cutting edge ideas to the table - could be development of an app or website for instance...
  • Foster collaboration and drive for action working with local and Global Brand Companies, CORBY, NBV, key cross functional partners and Regional Innovation Hubs where relevant.
  • Proactively contribute to the global Pernod Ricard Innovation community to build and share learnings with the International Innovation Hubs, Brand Companies and Global HQ teams.
  • Coordinate with Local Brand Marketing Teams: and Commercial teams to gain alignment on innovation concepts, platforms, pipeline, agenda for the region, where appropriate

  • Key external contacts: Design and Concepting agencies, consultants, industry experts, External Collaborators
  • Key internal contacts : Innovation Hub team; PRNA Marketing Teams, Insights; The Content Hub
  • Budget responsibility: Agency budget management - will support the tracking of our budget

  • Qualifications

    Profile: A talented creative/producer, with strong project management skills and a "can do" mentality willing to support a fast-paced team of innovators. Culturally connected, trend aware, with inherent graphic and conceptual design flair. Must be willing to "get hands dirty" and be willing to flex depending on team needs; strong growth mindset - can flex creative muscles into concepts, graphics (with Design Agency support), video editing or presentations.

    Education

  • Bachelors in Marketing, communications, Advertising, graphic design, digital Art or other creative field
  • Adobe qualifications - e.g., Photoshop, ACE, Illustrator or Graphic Design Certification

  • Proven Innovation Experience

  • Must have: A minimum of 5+ years relevant experience, such as within Design or Graphic Design agency, in-house studio, creative agency, content production/creation or production studio
  • Experience in the Spirits, BevAlc or CPG industry in North America within a large established organization a strong plus; other relevant experience such as within Brand Management, within an innovation/design-thinking agency also a plus. Structural/engineering elements of design (beyond visual) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability in Photoshop/equivalent; graphic design tools; video editing
  • Strong design aesthetic; talent to optimize ideas/mood boards or images, grounded in consumer/market insights and express these to "wow" that specific consumer in that specific need
  • Project Management: able to manage critical path and prioritize requests; able to manage multiple stakeholders with a positive energy and team ethos
  • Drive collaboration to move projects forward in a complex, matrix organizational structure; Proven ability to influence and drive action working with cross-functional teams (internal and external to Pernod Ricard)
  • Languages: English (must have excellent/fluent business proficiency in written and verbal communication); Spanish a plus
  • Technical skills: Exceptional Photoshop or other graphic design program skills; Strong self-sufficiency in Video editing. Keynote or PowerPoint a must have; MS Teams or project Management tools/Hive/Jira etc. a strong plus
  • Must be digitally savvy - if you can build an App or website that is a strong plus
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills - ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities; ability to plug in to agile teams/scrum way of working
