About the Role:

Working alongside the Pernod Ricard USA business, this full-time, fixed term position supports the long-term building of brand equity and key relationships in the market, performing as an extension of both the marketing and sales teams, supporting brand education, activation and volume driving activities.

The Graduate Ambassador is dedicated to the Still Wines portfolio, with primary focus on Campo Viejo with support on Kenwood Six Ridges, Jacob's Creek Double Barrel and Brancott Estate. He/she will focus on forming essential partnerships with distributors, buyers and industry stakeholders as well as act as the expert of our Still Wine portfolio. This role will serve to increase brand awareness amongst target consumers, drive incremental new business opportunities in both the on and off premise, lead tastings and trainings and represent our brands at industry and partnership events.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Wine Education & Engagement (50% of role)

  • Provide formal and informal wine education and training for Pernod Ricard employees, distributor partners, trade, consumers and press (only when requested by PR/Events Director)
  • Be the brand's "product expert", promote and educate employees about our products using superior brand and category knowledge
  • Partner with brand team to ideate and develop marketing collateral, e.g., Campo's wine hacks for social media, on premise sell sheets, etc. as needed and requested by brand team
  • Liaise with PR/Events Director, brand teams and local markets to coordinate and manage winemaker and global ambassador visits

  • Brand Development & Sales Support (30%)

  • Develop strategy for and advise Field Sales on account criteria/selection and create buyer relationships that fit brand strategies for Campo Viejo (both reds and brunching), Kenwood Six Ridges and Brancott coastal/seafood
  • Facilitate distributor relationship building with on-premise accounts to secure increased visibility and menu features, ensuring brand equity is built in addition to case volume
  • Support sales team to gain listings and/or programs by providing wine and branding expertise for both the on premise and off premise
  • Collaborate with Spirits team to identify opportunities for wine brands to partner, develop programs and activate brands
  • Partner with Brand Managers and Brand Activation Managers to help drive top of mind awareness among Field Sales and distributors for Campo and Kenwood power months; assisting with Pow Wows, market activity planning and recapping, etc

  • Events (10%)

  • Identify and lead trade events by representing Pernod Ricard Wines in partnership with PR/Events Director and brand teams
  • Support PR/Events Director and brand teams at consumer events when requested
  • Partner with Field Sales to lead local trade events and/or customer activations, ensuring alignment to brand strategy
  • Attend all key trade events and customer activations (within T&E budget) to ensure alignment to strategy, garner learnings and recommend opportunities for national programming
  • Leverage brand and trade sponsored events by leading and owning on-premise placement strategy, program development and in market amplification

  • Market Intelligence & Reporting (10%)

  • Provide monthly activity report to Brand Director and Pernod Ricard Winemakers (PRW)
  • Provide monthly market intelligence report to brand teams and PRW, highlighting best practices and ideas to leverage for our brands
  • Manage expenses to T&E budget allocation for events and travel

  • To be successful in the role you must have the following:

  • Experience in a role focusing on the promotion of wine/alcoholic beverages, with a strong passion for wine
  • Bachelor's Degree or Undergraduate studies in either Marketing, Communications, Winemaking or Viticulture
  • Ability to work autonomously or remotely, can self-manage and is highly organized
  • A strong networker who displays entrepreneurial aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills with ability to work as part of a team
  • Positive 'can-do' mindset
  • Competent in the use of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, email technology and social media platforms

  • It would be advantagoues if you have a Sommelier or wine professional background, are WSET accredited and have experience in sales, marketing, hospitality or education delivery however it is not essential.
