Position Summary: The Director, People Operations acts as a partner to the HR function, helping to build Pernod Ricard as a talent destination, make and execute key decisions, find and solve problems, expand his/her influence and build relationships. This role will partner closely with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) on both strategic projects as well as tactical execution of the People Agenda. They will have the opportunity to work with various internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization on both operational and strategic initiatives relating to the People agenda.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Lead the core operation/business cadence, including development and ongoing measurement of HR team OKRs for the function. Monitor key business metrics and flag areas of concern.
  • Lead and oversee alignment and integration within the function and the business.
  • Integrate change management while partnering with the HRLT to advance action plans and drive progress.
  • Manage employee life cycle process through regular cadence of meetings with partners across the HR function.
  • Provide support to the SVP, HR across a range of work - strategy development, internal management, project management, change management, communications, and execution of a cohesive Human Resources strategic plan in alignment with the business plan.
  • Drive a cohesive view of business needs, design goals and operational plans across HR, including financial budgeting.
  • Support the SVP, HR follow-through on management, operational and team development objectives.
  • Drive alignment between HR team's work and HR Strategy and implementation plans.
  • Translate SVP, HR priorities and direction into a measurable plan to improve efficiency and best ensure goals are met.
  • Track and regularly report HR team's progress against goals and desired outcomes.
  • Drive forward and project manage strategic priorities, overseeing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Identify key performance indicators and uses benchmark data from internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serves as the point person for coordinating the execution of the PRNA HR Strategy.

  • Operations

  • Use quantitative approach in assessing current and desired future state, tracking progress in areas, overseeing the HR scorecard.
  • Improve efficiencies throughout the function as well as scale our operations as we grow by directing a best-in-class People experience.
  • Represent HR perspective to organization wide operations projects and priorities by participating in working groups and steering committees or by providing adhoc guidance and direction.
  • Ensure the SVP, HR is prepared for key meetings and events, distilling and cascading core tenets of our strategy for senior leadership and other internal / external stakeholders.
  • Plan and shape agendas for the HRLT meetings and retreats, all staff meetings and learning sessions. Connect work streams that would otherwise remain siloed. Support SVP HR in establishing and strengthening team culture and cross-team connections through a variety of mechanisms and channels.
  • Help to manage information flow, resolving issues and providing analysis and advice on key issues.

  • Communications

  • Works in tandem with PRNA Communications Team to facilitate cohesive, efficient, and effective employee communications at all levels of the organization to enhance the visibility and positive image of the function.
  • Through proactive organization communication, ensure linkage between the SVP, HR and HRLT to the broader organization.
  • Nurture insights and story to communicate progress on HR strategy in support of foundation and operational priorities.
  • Partner with Communications as appropriate to develop and manage annual communications plan and flow for SVP, HR and HR function; draft and edit communications on SVP, HR's behalf as needed.

  • Change Management & Project management: Will act as change agent for the Transformation office driving all change management initiatives through the function and ensuring the roll out of HR programs is aligned with change management roadmap. Acts as project manager for all functional projects, while ensuring alignment across the organization with key business projects.

    Nature & Scope: Position typically works with multiple levels of management across PRNA. Communication frequently includes sensitive information, requiring complete confidentiality and discretion in dealings with contacts. Requires a high level of service responsiveness to internal customers and a strong, collaborative partnership with HR colleagues. Key Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Management, or related field; MBA a plus Experience: Minimum of 10 years' business experience with 3+ years of successful leadership or management experience.   • Demonstrated success with Project Management and prioritization
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization, even without direct reporting line
  • Experience successfully implementing programs across geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex projects or assignments
  • Possess ability to manage deadlines for both individual and team projects
  • Strong business acumen

  • Working Conditions:

    General Office: Work is performed in a typical office environment. Limited demands for movement and lifting. Normal visual, hearing and language acuity required for correspondence and computer usage.
