Note: This position is a 12 -month contract
The Sales & Operations Planning Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to mitigate inventory risks using analytical tools and multiple sources of data feeds. This role requires the ability to extract, manipulate and use large data sets to create action-oriented dashboards in Excel and Power BI for internal and external teams. Key objectives will be to improve depletion and shipment forecast accuracy, customer fill rates, prevent out of stock issues, send weekly updates to sales team, monthly preparation of materials for inventory deployment and leadership team meetings.
In addition, this role will support coordination of communication between Finance, Marketing, Operations and Sales to understand risks and opportunities. This position is a key contributor within the Sales & Operations Planning process to proactively prevent out of stock risks before they happen. The candidate should be very tech savvy when it comes to using software and platforms, have data analytics background, have the ability to independently learn and make decisions, be organized, pay attention to detail and be a team player.
Major Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesUse multiple data sets to update the inventory deployment model on a monthly basis.Prepare supply updates and gap analysis for inventory deployment meetings on a monthly basis.Create PowerPoint presentations using multiple sources and KPIs extracted from data analytics tools.Use business intelligence and data analytics to create solution-based action plans to mitigate inventory risks.Maintain strong working relationships with distributor, finance, marketing, operations and sales partners. Manage ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.Demonstrate initiative to drive and support continuous improvement opportunities.Strong understanding of the procedures and concepts of the S&OP process.Lead and participate in relevant projects as assigned by the S&OP team.
Nature & Scope
Position typically works with all levels of employees within the organization and is knowledgeable on many aspects of the sales and operations planning processes. Communication will include contacts within and outside the company. This position will work closely with the Sales & Operations Planning managers in providing accurate and timely information to the proper communication channels.
As new tools and reports are deployed, this position will create and facilitate user acceptance testing to drive adoption across the S&OP team. Ability to learn new skills and understand the business quickly are critical in this role. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
Key Competencies and Qualifications
Education : Undergraduate degree in Business, Operations Management, Data Analytics or related field required.
Experience/Background :Requires 1-2 years of previous analytical and/or operations planning experience.Advanced technical skills in using Excel (Power Query/Pivot, Pivot Tables, etc.) to create reports.Advance technical skills in using Power Point to create decks and presentation materials.Strong technical skills and data analytical mindset.Ability to think independently to solve complex problems and make good decisions with little to no directions.Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Required Skills/Competencies :Advanced use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Teams, Outlook).Proficient in using and learning business intelligence tools (Power BI, Oracle, etc.).Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Great at communication, collaboration and presentation skills.Entrepreneurial personality and project management skills desired.Ability to learn new processes and technologies fast.Flexible, organized, team player.
