About Us
In 2004, Jeff O’Neill founded O’Neill Vintners and Distillers with a purpose: to create unrivaled relationships that successfully build brands and businesses. Since then, we’ve pursued our goal by building a company that strives for continuous improvement and a culture focused on teamwork and problem-solving.

Our hard work is paying off — today, we’re one of the fastest-growing wineries in California and have a reputation as one of the top premium wine and spirits producers in the industry, all built behind our core values:

Forward Thinkers

Ingenuity That Never Quits

A Handshake You Can Trust

Always Deliver

Why work at O’Neill?

At O’Neill, we see each other as family.

Every O’Neill employee is key to our success. We’re made up of both industry veterans and newcomers, so we always have a variety of perspectives. We look out for one another and believe that caring for each other comes first. We push each other to do better: to create innovative solutions, to solve complex problems, and to exceed our goals. We step up to any challenge and know that together, we add value to everything we touch.

O’Neill is here to get it done, and it shows every day through our team’s commitment.

What we do

National Wine Brands: Our National Brands’ vision is to make wine exciting by building differentiated and relevant brands. These have been created to appeal to the modern wine consumer and their everchanging needs and desires. These are wines that are outpacing the overall wine market with staggering speed and unparalleled quality.

Exclusive Wine & Spirits Brands: We’re uniquely positioned to tailor to the needs of the customer to exact specification by owning the process of all our wines from grape to bottle. Our marketing team is “always on” and encourages direct collaboration through a unique customer strategy by understanding the opportunity of the consumer and offering a multitude of varied brand assets to increase brand growth.

B2B Wine / Grape Supply: In addition to our company-owned vineyards in Parlier and the Robert Hall winery in Paso Robles, O’Neill proudly partners with over 150 of California’s most experienced and innovative growers to contract over 15,000 acres of vineyards and crushing over 160,000 tons of grapes annually.

Brandy & Spirits: O’Neill produces over 5 million proof gallons of brandy and dessert wines a year through our continuous column and pot stills, which give us the flexibility we need to allow our Distilling Team to continue innovating throughout the entire distilling process.

Bottling Services: Our bottling lines are capable of producing thousands of cases daily, all while maintaining the quality our customers expect. And because our bottling line is powered entirely by solar energy, we’re also an industry leader in sustainability, from the fields to the production line.

What’s Important to Us

Diversity & Inclusion

WOMEN OF THE VINE & SPIRITS

Women of the Vine & Spirits exists to empower and equip women with tools to advance their careers in the alcohol beverage industry, fostering gender diversity and talent development across the industry at large.

As a proud gold member, O'Neill employees have access to informative sessions on diversity, equity, and inclusion to address the particular challenges that face women in the alcohol beverage industry.

CHARLES WOODSON & O'NEILL FAMILY WINE SCHOLARSHIP

In 2020, O’Neill Vintners & Distillers and Charles Woodson founded the Charles Woodson & O’Neill Family Wine Scholarship, a new series of college scholarships with California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and Sonoma State University.

The scholarships aim to recruit and retain Black, Indigenous, and People of Color interested in pursuing a career in the wine industry. Recipients receive 100%-paid tuition and room and board over their entire college career. Additionally, O'Neill will offer internships/mentorships along the way to prepare recipients for life in the wine industry.

Sustainability

As an industry leader, we’re serious about our goal to become a fully sustainable operation. To become a certified sustainable winery, we started our Sustainability Initiative in 2013, but our company has practiced a policy of conservation since its founding.  Some of our ongoing conservation efforts include:

  • Our 5,000 panel solar farm produces approximately 1.037 mil kWh annually.
  • We worked with BioFiltro to construct the largest worm-powered winery wastewater system in the world, capable of filtering up to 80MM gallons of water a year.
  • In an industry first, O’Neill has hosted a living case study for the wider wine community to learn about regenerative viticulture through biodynamic farming techniques, comparing the results with our sustainably-farmed vineyards.
  • We’ve introduced a grower certification program that certifies growers who follow sustainability principles. A large number of our growers are already certified, with our goal to purchase 100% of our grapes from certified growers by 2023.
