We’re Minor Figures. Founded on a rooftop in 2014 by three friends with a shared love of coffee, MF has since grown into a global brand with a team of over 100 people across the world, with offices in the UK, USA, and Australia. We create plant-based products for coffee lovers, baristas and a better planet. We love teaming up with people as mad about coffee as we are and love nothing more than heading down to their local cafe to enjoy a chat with the friendly & expert barista. 

All our products are 100% plant based and vegan friendly with no added sugar. The company is exploding, achieving record sales figures each quarter. 

Minor Figures would be nothing without the independent coffee scene and our products can be found in over 4,000 specialty coffee shops worldwide, where we regularly run Freedays and Minor Figures FM events. We’re also expanding fast, with products lining the shelves in major supermarkets in our three core regions and our team achieving record sales figures quarter-on-quarter.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Territory Sales Representative for New York will maintain and grow existing accounts, and prospect and close new accounts within the territory. On-premise sales with cafe’s and foodservice operators are the primary focus, with a secondary focus on independent retail grocery stores. 

This is a field-based position, with expectations to be actively selling in the market four days per week. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, deeply organized, loves to work at a fast-pace, and has excellent relationship development skills. Candidates must be based within the territory.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Increase sales and distribution throughout the territory.
  • Actively pursue and onboard new operators by nurturing relationships, understanding operator pain points, and demonstrating the value of the Minor Figures brand.
  • Conduct regular visits and develop strong relationships with existing operators and accounts to retain and grow the business, with a “1% better” focus on each visit.
  • Develop relationships with local distributor-partners that lead to increased sales.
  • Identify prospective customers, and track opportunities and pipeline within the Minor Figures CRM In collaboration with Minor Figures sales leadership team, onboard, train and grow sales with new distributors.
  • Support sales and opportunities with marquee or strategic accounts as requested by regional sales managers/director within the territory.
  • Educate, sample and support distributor representatives, cafe partners, and operators.
  • Juggle multiple priorities, mapping out smart weekly routes to maximize daily field efforts.
  • Utilize Minor Figures tools to build accurate territory forecasts.
  • Participate in regular internal team calls, sharing best practices, feedback on competitors, and market intel.
  • Collaborate with leadership on individual quarterly goals that are challenging yet attainable.
  • Represent Minor Figures in a professional, authentic manner.
ABOUT YOUR TEAM

You’ll be reporting into our Director of Sales in the Coffee Channel, Gio. Our sales team is broken up into 2 channels; retail grocery and cafe sales. We are all coffee people and are very immersed in the coffee community nationwide. 

Although the entire team is remote we are a very close knit bunch. We might be a small team but we truly believe in our product and know how to speak the language of coffee. We like to build lasting relationships within our team as well as with our customers.

ABOUT YOU
  • You’ll have some form of specialty coffee, foodservice sales experience, or a background in CPG sales/marketing
  • Ideally, you’ll come to us with a good level of knowledge of the territory/geography you are working in, but, we know that can be gained here too.
  • A good level of Comfort with Google Suite is required, experience with Slack and MS Office preferred
  • We’d love to welcome someone to the team who has an entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of early-stage business
  • You’ll be in the field a good deal, so the flexibility to travel & have the ability to travel overnight, for extended customer visits, trade shows, company meetings, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

YOUR COMMITMENT

You will be based in or near ​New York and be familiar with the city. ​

A work schedule of Monday-Friday from ​8:00am- 5:30pm with flexibility for trade shows and other work related travel that may occur on weekends.
