About Mikey’s:

Mikey’s was founded in 2014 when Mike Tierney noticed a growing number of companies using the claim “gluten-free” as a way to convince consumers their products were better for them, when, in reality, they were loaded with artificial ingredients, fillers and preservatives. Utilizing his culinary training and restaurant experience, Mikey used only eight simple ingredients found right in his kitchen to create his first product – the Original English Muffin. Mikey went on to expand his line into over a dozen other products crafted using the same principle of delivering nutritious products made from only simple, recognizable ingredients.

Founded in 2018, Factory is a team of experienced operators with $250M of investable capital who acquire meaningful equity stakes in high potential food and beverage companies and partner with them to rapidly build value. Factory team members have expertise in sales, marketing, product development, food science, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, package engineering, graphic design, food safety, consumer insights, digital and social media, and finance. Factory is based in a one-of-a-kind 40,000 sq. ft. innovation and scale-up facility in Bethlehem PA, where we provide partner companies with support and resources so invested capital can be used for growth, not SG&A.

Reporting To: Operating Partner, Factory LLC 

Job Description:  

The Senior Brand Manager leads the brand and the cross-functional Factory team in the achievement of Mikey’s annual revenue and gross margin targets.  He or she is accountable for the Mikey’s P&L and the daily operations of the Mikey’s brand, has one direct report, an Associate Brand Manager with 2 years’ experience on the brand, and is supported by the cross-functional Factory team, which includes senior expertise across all brand and operating disciplines and supporting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Lead development and execution of the annual business plan and monthly business reviews
·        Manage budgets and project timelines
·        Represent the brand in monthly S&OP process
·        Lead ongoing business and ROI analyses and commission consumer research as required
·        Collaborate with and/or manage output of internal and external resources, including:
o   Internal sales team and external brokers
o   New product development
o   Demand planning and materials sourcing
o   Digital and social content development and deployment 
o   Design studio and package engineering
o   Finance and accounting
o   QA and food safety
o   Consumer insights
o   Logistics
o   Agencies or other external resource partners 

 
Required Skills:
 
The ideal candidate will combine classical marketing training with experience in an entrepreneurial environment.  He or she will have a keen understanding of consumers and a passion for exploring new ways to meet consumer needs, motivate behavior and grow the Mikey’s brand. 
 
The successful candidate will have had experience:
·        In natural (priority) and other retail channels
·        Selling both DTC and via online retailers
·        Monitoring the production of both products and packaging
·        Planning and executing shopper marketing programs, such as Ibotta and Catalina
·        Developing and executing brand and program strategies
·        Briefing creative and product development teams
·        Writing and delivering management and sales presentations
·        Working with SPINS and other syndicated data to analyze trends, identify root causes of issues, and make improvements
·        Using traditional software programs – Excel, PowerPoint, etc. – and, ideally, financial management programs
·        Multi-tasking and thriving in a fast-paced, non-traditional, fluid entrepreneurial organization
 
Education and Experience
·        Bachelor's degree and MBA, with a concentration in Marketing preferred
·        6+ years in Brand Management, ideally in the food industry, with some exposure to frozen food 
·        At least 10+ years cumulative work experience
