The Regional Sales Manager – Natural Channel is responsible for driving distribution and sales with enthusiasm and passion for Maine Crisp’s purpose, mission, and values. The position exists to drive sales, build market share, and increase brand awareness while establishing long-term relationships with distributors, brokers, and key customers within the Natural and Specialty Channel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Mid-Atlantic Region including the areas of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. This is a fast-moving and complex business that will test your emotional resilience, positive motivation, and personal drive.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Must be a great brand builder with the ability to sell the mission and values along with the products.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plan for sales region.
  • Create annual sales goal budget, meet with supervisor, monitor progress, measure results and document performance through-out calendar year.
  • Utilize the company’s performance management system to set quarterly goals, monitor progress, measure results and document performance.
  • Sell and manage promotional trade spends to direct expense annual budget.
  • Responsible for headquarter and store level sales execution for all designated customers within region as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Create and manage strategic promotional programs for each customer.
  • Study and utilize market trend data to assist in the selling process.
  • Execute new product launches and drive additional distribution Maine Crisp brands.
  • New business development including new distributors and retailers.
  • Prepare and present business reviews and category reviews with key customers.
  • Communicate and implement price changes as provided from management.
  • Manage the process for unauthorized deduction resolution.
  • Direct, manage and train assigned brokers.
  • Create quarterly broker goals, monitor progress, measure results, and document performance.
  • Travel for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings - approximately 50% of time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least five years’ of sales experience in the Natural Products Industry.
  • At least five years’ experience within retail, distributor or broker food sales management.
  • Knowledge and/or commitment to the natural/organic industry.
  • Proven and successful sales management track record.
  • Current Regional Sales Manager or equivalent position within the retail food CPG class of trade.
  • Exceptional leadership and motivational skills are important as is entrepreneurial flair and flexibility.
  • Unquestioned personal and business integrity, high ethical standards, and a highly professional approach to their relationships and their position.
  • Experienced in sales and expense budgeting and management to budget.
  • Has extensive broker management experience.
  • Full competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Has a home office and is able to work remotely and independently.
  • Proven integrity in life/employment and honesty in dealings with others.
  • Ability to relocate if needed.
  • Compensation based on experience.
