The Director of Grocery Sales is responsible for managing direct customers within the Conventional, Club, and Natural Trade Channels. They will grow sales through increased distribution, promotion planning, and successful new item launch campaigns drawing upon deep understanding of the grocery business, both large and small format.  They also will be tasked with managing broker representatives and leading a team of passionate sales professionals!  The successful candidate will be very hands-on in this emerging brand environment and will bring a proven track record of building companies to their next level. This candidate will be extremely flexible and enjoy the daily “high-change” and “highly charged” environment, while continuously building toward a long-term vision of the company. Responsibilities include: 
Meet/exceed annual new and existing retail customers revenue and profit goals for all company’s products in the Grocery channel
Secure and expand distribution by building close relationships with category managers, brokers, distributors, and retailers/outlets
Create a strategic plan that delivers targeted revenue, profitability, brand and organization growth and includes go-to-market principles (Pricing, Promo, Item/Segment focus)
Lead an inspiring and innovative team. Build a culture that attracts and retains intelligent, hard-working and talented employees.Build/Utilize ROI tools to make informed account decisions
Utilize syndicated data to inform decisions and growth strategies
Set budgets and metrics to support the strategy and drive success
Tailor retailer programs to create successful item introductions
Act as a key voice inside of organization on what is needed for success
Work collaboratively with marketing and innovation on new and existing products
Craft great stories for our customers and persuasively deliver them in a variety of settings
Work cohesively with internal partners in Finance, Operations, and Marketing and proactively communicate the real or potential impact of any strategic decisions made
Represent Laird Superfood at retail meetings, industry conferences, trade events, and the like
Other duties as required  

Requirements:
7+ years of experience in a sales role, including 4+ years specifically selling into the grocery channel in relevant categories 
3+ years experience leading and managing teams
Proven experience meeting/exceeding annual new and existing customer revenue and profit goals in multiple categories as well as selling/implementing a transformative solution within a grocery environment
Substantial experience with syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, etc.)
Expert comprehension of sales cycles and the resources needed to win customers
Expert level experience using CRM tools 
Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the proven ability to produce visually compelling presentations
Ability to travel up to 25% of the year
