Kush.com is on a rapid and thoughtful growth trajectory.  This person will complete the current leadership team and play a critical role in our long-term success.  She/he will report directly to the CEO with a dotted line to our CFO. The role is based in Tampa and this person is expected to work from our Embarc Collective office with a minimal amount of travel.

Position: Controller, Kush.com (this immediate opportunity is a one-person accounting role which includes all billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounting. Our goal is to establish the accounting infrastructure and grow the reporting structure of this department).
  • Management of multi-entity accounting operations; includes billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting and reconciliations, including preparation and management of the balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. Cash flow worksheet reporting. 
  • Prepare and publish monthly consolidated accrual based financial statements each month by the 15th (balance sheet, profit and loss statement and cash flow statement)
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory compliance. Ensure that all annual reports for all entities are filed in a timely manner. 
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals – directors & officers, general liability, medical benefits & event insurance as needed. 
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance. 
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. This includes new state registrations as NEXUS criteria are met.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Periodically review the processes in place for updates as needed. 
  • Streamline accounting processes for new revenue streams as needed. 
  • All payroll & HR functions. 
  • Ad-hoc reporting as requested by CEO, and/or investors. 
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting 
  • Certified Public Accountant 
  • With at least 10 years of total experience and has consistently exceeded performance objectives.
