About The Position
It’s Skinny, a fast growing naturally gluten free and 0 net carb pasta alternative, is seeking an experienced Junior Controller to join our fun, energetic and collaborative family. The junior controller should be diligent, have strong attention to detail, and be a self-starter comfortable working in a fast paced environment.  They will also be committed to being a positive driver to the company’s vision and goals, and have a voice to share ideas. 


  • Assist with the planning, implementation and execution of financial operations including budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor expense trends, identify operational improvements and recommend cost savings measures
  • Analyze financial data to inform strategic decisions and support organizational objectives
  • Aid in cash management by recommending optimal solutions for maximum ROI
  • Develop internal control processes, procedures and documentation to minimize risk exposure
  • Oversee accounts receivable/payable, billing/invoicing activities
  • Review monthly, quarterly & annual reports; suggest improvements if needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure accuracy of bills and other documents
  • Monitor accounts payable to suppliers/vendors to ensure timely payment and appropriate classification in the general ledger
  • Analyze aged accounts receivable, investigate/resolve customer deductions and assist with collection and cash application, as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of all invoices and billing documents
  • Review and report on corporate KPIs with CEO
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliation preparation for various accounts/processes and journal entries.
  • Lead on handling requests and questions from external parties (e.g., customers, vendors)
  • Contribute to the development of internal operating procedures and accounting policies
  • Understand business processes to identify and implement internal control and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to produce monthly reports/analyses
  • Work with logistics and sales teams to identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and think creatively about optimizing
  • Ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed
  • Work collectively with the controller to understand profitability for all customers
  • Assess ROI of new customers by analyzing financial data and recommending appropriate investments
  • Regularly review current business practices and procedures to identify areas of improvement
  • Explore opportunities that offer potential value creation such as automation or process efficiency improvements
  • Analyze customer trends and develop strategies to increase sales and profits
  • Analyze production costs, inventory levels, pricing structures, sales activity reports and financial statements
  • Prepare financial presentations for upper management/executive team
  • Hold marketing team to margin targets and monitor ongoing actuals relative to the budget
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks Online
  • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to deliver timely, accurate results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Analytical thinker who can quickly understand information and needs across a variety of products, technologies, and disciplines
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations
